Welcome to the April 26th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on the April 25th games. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings
- Austin Hays takes two monster swings at the High Striker. The county fair crowd goes wild.
- Trevor Story heads to Denny’s for the big boy breakfast (The Grand Slam). The Uncle Hershel’s at Cracker Barrel is better. Gotta get that apple butter.
- Swingin' & Winkin'. Jesse Winker w/ fourth shot of sex appeal.
- Ryan Mountcastle isn't doing much climbing these days w/ .167 AVG. However, he moves on flat ground (third SB).
- Bryce Harper Space Exploration program has two more candidates, including a 468-ft success story.
- Anyone else seeing Cedric Mullins hitting .346? It's a celebration!!
- Would someone get Mickey or Donald Duck to drop the life raft? Matt Chapman needs saving (.158 AVG).
- No reservation necessary, Fernando Tatis Jr. Your seventh HR/ fourth SB earn a quick seat at White Castle. Combo!!
- Whit Merrifield (eight) must have drank his Ensure this morning (two SB). Haha, 32-years-old never looked so good.
- Pete Alonso I get, but J.D. Davis smacked a long ball off Patrick Corbin?! Ok, something is wrong.
- Taijuan Walker has finally arrived! (7 IP, 3 BB, 4 K). Wait, how long ago was he a prospect?
- How some respect for the obstacles Eduardo Rodriguez had to overcome. (4-0; 7 IP, 3 ER, 8 K)
- When Giancarlo Stanton is hitting a ball 120 mph (single), don't you just get out of the way.
- Franmil Reyes (five) lets off the gas & still gets a 342-foot homer.
- Yes, I'm one of those dummkopfs that let Zack Gallen get past the sixth round in a draft (12 teams). (7 IP, 2 ER, 6 K)
- Marcell Ozuna has an xBA of .209. Are we expecting more right now than we should?
- Drew Smyly brings sadness. 4 IP, 5 ER, 4 K. TOR next.
- Eduardo Escobar (seven) sneaks another one out of the compound.
- Don't confuse smoothness with lacking authority. Ask the 440-foot rocket if Shohei Ohtani (seven) has authority.
- C.J. Cron (three) smacked the ball so far (447 ft), Rawlings got a contact high while in flight.
- Is there an asterisk in the no-hitter record books for the seven-inning variety. Asking for a friend (Madison Bumgarner)
- Wait, what?! Paul Goldschmidt (one) speed has returned?! Gamechanger.
- No Power Counsel is to be convened w/o input from Nelson Cruz (seven).
- Alex Kirilloff is 0-for-14. The waits with anticipation.
- Michael Kopech was NASTY! (5 IP, 1 ER, 10 K).
- Jose Abreu changes the washcloth on your forehead again. It's gonna be ok. 5 HR, 17 RBI.
- All the possibilities are open as Tyler O'Neill drops a couple of shots of freedom.
- If your offense hadn't faced Brandon Woodruff (6 IP, 2 BB, 8 K), you might have had a better outcome, Jake Arrieta (6IP, 1 ER, 8 K). 2.57 ERA. (3.45 xFIP).
- Billy McKinney, they give you a chance to play & you return the favor by leaving them (eight)? Cold-blooded.
- Is it Jesus Aguilar's turn to serve as the space heater? Three straight games with a homer.
Endgame
- Matt Barnes (four)
- Rafael Dolis (two)
- Raisel Iglesias (three)
- Alex Reyes (five)
- Tyler Rogers (two)
- Mark Melancon (eight)
