Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox - Yesterday's Recap

Welcome to the Tuesday, September 24th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.

Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.

In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on September 24th. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings

  • You need 1.2 innings? “I got this.” ~ Blake Snell
  • When Adam is hungry, he gets to Eaton. 15th HR.
  • Trea Turner sweetly caresses the cowhide for 17th long ball. Looking at a 20/40 guy. Yes, thank you.
  • Felt like your blood pressure was too low? Starting Zach Eflin is the answer. (5IP, 5ER, 4BB)
  • Patrick Corbin breezes. 3.05ERA. 19.9%K-BB.
  • Austin Hays is Raising Cane for that combo meal w/extra tangy sauce. 4HR, 10RBI, 1SB, .345AVG last week.
  • Jonathan Villar is getting so close to a shiny new club card. Currently at 24HR/38SB.
  • Yes, I would like to order the Cavan Biggio. Just the last 30 games version: 6HR,17RBI, .303AVG.
  • We have found his elixir. Maple syrup gives Chris Davis his strength. Back-to-back homer games. (12).
  • Like a sheltered boy who found out about McDonalds. Just give him the Big Mac combo meal. Anthony Alford w/1st HR/1st SB of season.
  • Ji-Man Choi gives steady production & plate appearances. Four long balls and 12RBI in last 15 games.
  • Brandon Lowe makes his presence felt. 17th long-distance call. That 18.7%SwingStrike though.
  • Willy Adames makes a sneaky deposit over the wall (20). Mark it down. Sleeper pick.
  • Russian Roulette w/Steven Matz. 5IP, 6ER. Eeesh.
  • Remember Jorge Alfaro? Two dingers. No, don’t get too excited.
  • Jon Berti is a provider. Playing time galore. Yes, please. Oh, 4-for-5 w/three runs. Thank you.
  • Amed Rosario gets his breakfast buffet thanks to Grand Slam. 15HR/18SB is nice. 33%Hard hit rate?
  • Stop me if you’re heard this one before….Tommy Edman!
  • Carlos Martinez, you’re gonna get the crowd all flustered w/all these saves(24).
  • Don’t be rude. At least clap for Paul Goldschmidt’s 32nd tater.
  • Starting Alex Young was too risky for me.
  • Have a great Tuesday. Not much regular season baseball left. Enjoy every minute of it.
  • No Fear, Just Fantasy.
