Welcome to the Saturday, September 21st edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on September 21st. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings
- In homer age, Pete Alonso is turning a half-century. These are some of the best years of your life.
- "To avoid being typecast as a Power-Only Guy, get three SB.” Nolan Arenado(41HR) & Albert Pujols advise Jorge Soler. Done.
- How do you trade up for more value in dynasty leagues? Enter Kyle Lewis w/six homers in 40 at-bats.
- The O’s are giving you serviceable players. Anthony Santander has reached the 20HR mark. Better Chase (39.9%) & Hard hit (37%) rates would be even better.
- Jonathan Villar trying to keep up with the youngsters. 37SB.
- Aaron Judge w/25HR in 96 games. Full season for 2020 will be exciting.
- Red boxes everywhere on my roster. They’re multiplying. My players are falling apart.
- Danny Jansen (13th tater) will be dirt-cheap in 2020. 42.4%Hard hit rate. Solid plate discipline. .233BABIP is terrible. Sign me up for a free test drive.
- Jacob deGrom put on his cowboy hat & rounded up nine strikeouts and big ‘ol W(10).
- We’re going streaking! Aristides Aquino stops at Taco Bell for the Chalupa Supreme combo meal (17HR/5SB).
- .321AVG is great. Jeff McNeil sits sixth in batting crown. 23HR & 5SB is appreciated.
- People discount Trea Turner already for 2020. What’s wrong with 20HR, 40SB, .290AVG? Yes, definitely a 1st-rounder.
- Boot-Scootin Berti. Pick them up and put them down quickly equals 12th SB for Jon Berti.
- More HRs in the first half(13-4). Better AVG in the second half (.268-.225). Pick the Mitch Moreland you want. Friday night you get both.
- Nobody move. Rick Porcello w/six three-hit innings and six K. Cherish it. This is a Cy Young winner.
- It’s been a while since I’ve been, but the Grand Slam was delicious as I recall. Eloy Jimenez enjoys it as well. (29HR).
- Dylan Cease had a game out of characteristic of this season — a good game. Borrow the playbook from Lucas Giolito before 2020 season.
- The Cardinals beat the Cubs using only four hits. Yadier Molina got three of them.
- Let’s follow him on his home stretch. Nicholas Castellanos w/57 doubles.
- The mystery remains unsolved. Tim Anderson w/17HR, 17SB, MLB-leading .336AVG. How does he do it?
- Shane Bieber, you’re so dreamy. 15th win on 7.1IP, 2ER, 7K.
- Stand up & Applaud! Carlos Carrasco locks it DOWN! First save.
- Oscar Mercado doesn’t sell many Ks(16.8%), Just H, R(12); S, B(15) w/.281AVG.
- Drew Smyly isn’t that bad. Let’s look at the underlying metrics…sorry, I can’t get past the 6.44ERA.
- Mike Foltynewicz is a BEAST! *tap-tap* “It was the Giants.” I DON'T CARE!! 2.35ERA(3.46FIP) in the second half.
- Never satisfied, Ronald Acuna keeps eating. 41HR. 34 as leadoff. Did we waste 134AB elsewhere?
- Where's all the Jose Altuve sulkers? Yeah, 30 homers have a way of turning frowns upside down.
- Carlos Correa doubles your enjoyment. 21HR in a season filled w/injuries resulting in only 74 games. One out of five (healthy seasons) ain’t bad. Is it?
- Yes, the Rojas you wanted. Josh Rojas w/4th SB. You might not have waited this long.
- Zack Greinke allows four runs and gets 17th W. That’s team support right there. A target of mine in 2020.
- In 27 fewer games, Adalberto Mondesi (41SB) is on the hunt, tracking down Mallex Smith (44SB).
- We were all right. Trevor May is the true closer of the Twins. Two saves and counting.
- After a couple of implosions, all you can do is pick up the pieces. Mike Fiers did just that. 8IP, 0ER, 5K.
- Mark Canha sends out his 25th souvenir donation.
- Garrett Hampson grabs a quick combo meal from Sonic. I’d take the #1 w/mustard & make those tots chili-cheesy. 5HR/12SB.
- Corey Seager sweet-talks the cowhide into leaving the park. (17th HR). Too many other options for 2020.
- "Can you just add another SB to my resume for the year. Just cause. 14 sounds better.” ~ Cody Bellinger
- Have a great Saturday. Give yourself an actual rest, not just in name.
- No Fear, Just Fantasy.
