Welcome to the Thursday, September 19th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on September 19th. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings
- Rafael Devers laughs at your idea of a no-hitter. 30HR, 50 doubles.
- Eugenio Suarez smoothly slides next to Peter Alonso at 48. Alonso, leery of the creepy closeness, quickly advances to 49.
- I like my (Max) Scherzers to have 300K. Guess I have to go to (Gerrit) Coles for that.
- Give me a double-shot of Tommy Edman. 10HR, 13SB, .286AVG. Very nice.
- Four-straight wins for Adam Wainwright. Only 43% owned. These wins are old and don’t move so fast. Chase 'em.
- More proof of speed not needed. Kolten Wong (24SB) only 47% owned.
- Carlos Martinez is My guy to own in 2020. Inexpensive but he’s got the job & he’s good at it. 21SV.
- “No speed?! Count ‘em. Three. Three steals. Ah-Ah-Ah!” ~ Nolan Arenado
- “I don’t want Rene Rivera as my catcher either.” Noah Syndergaard after four SB allowed.
- Sam Hilliard doubles his & your enjoyment. Two makes four long balls.
- Bring back the April version of Christian Walker.
- Aaron Judge w/three taters in the last week(24). Still chasing Brett Gardner.
- Albert Pujols is great. Who is going to tell him not to steal a base? Count ‘em. Three ah-ah-ah. Wait a minute. Nolan Arenado has (future) Hall of Fame speed. YES!!!
- Jonathan Villar w/combo meal(Mmm, sesame chicken). 23HR/36SB. Draft temperature rising.
- Kyle Lewis w/92.6mph avg exit velo. Fifth HR. Fences cannot contain.
- Not on any team would I have started Zach Eflin vs. Braves. Congrats on W.
- Dinelson Lamet w/W & 14K vs. Brewers?! Are you serious? Yep, sat him in most leagues this week. Damn.
- If only we had Keston Hiura for longer. 17HR just isn’t enough time.
- Come here. I have a secret. Closer. I don’t want anyone else to hear. Closer. Yuli Gurriel has 30 HOMERS!!!
- Danny Santana helium hasn’t even begun for 2020 drafts. 25HR, 18SB, .286AVG. Wait for it. Worthy or not.
- Tommy Pham finishing strong. 5-for-6 w/three runs and a SB.
- Nicholas Castellanos leads MLB w/56 doubles.
- Recalculating. Cody Bellinger is back on track w/45th long ball.
- Yep, Austin Meadows did it again. 32 dingers. Now you have to pay the mark-up.
- If your visit w/2019 has come to an end, we appreciate your performance, Joey Gallo. See you soon when you tour again.
- Have a great Thursday. Don't hesitate when the brisk morning welcomes you as the front door opens. Embrace it like an old friend.
- No Fear, Just Fantasy.
