Welcome to the Saturday, September 14th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on September 14th. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings
- Nicholas Castellanos back in the two-hole. BLAMO! 26th HR
- Gavin Lux already building a d’Lux apartment in the sky. 419ft for his second homer.
- You know who else has 26 long balls, but played all season in Wrigley? Anthony Rizzo. Juiced ball was no help.
- We talked about this, Ozzie Albies. 14R, 4HR, .379AVG in 15 games is not good for 2020 (for me).
- I don’t think Max (Scherzer) is mad enough. Another C’est-La-Vie game. We thrive by the ace, we die by the ace.
- Mike Soroka gets 12th W. 6IP, 0ER, 3BB, 4K. Out-duel Scherzer? That he did not.
- Anthony Kay should go to his mom, Mary, to gets something to cover up the bruises from 5ER in 4.1IP.
- Bo Bichette w/11 sweet serenades in 179 at-bats.
- The O’s aren’t too broke. They have Jonathan Villar (34SB) and Trey Mancini (31HR).
- Clayton Kershaw gets 14th W and all is right in baseball…except for Thor w/4.15ERA
- Arlington Park is fun. I guess Ramon Laureano is fully healthy. Watch Marcus Semien (29HR/10SB) get disrespected again. Matt Olson will hit 40HR in 2020.
- Oh, man. Danny Santana you got that steak, egg, and cheese bagel combo meal (26/16). Delicious.
- Adam Wainwright only 36% owned but gets 12th W.
- Yes, I might take a chance on Harrison Bader in 2020. 8HR, 9SB is something to build on. .208AVG & 87mph avg exit velo could use some work. (Side note: 37-year-old Yadier Molina has the same avg exit velo)
- Tommy Edman for the steal(12).
- Can you imagine a George Springer season w/no missed time? 35HR, 89RBI, 5SB, .296AVG w/missing a month is so good.
- Don’t pout. Jose Altuve doesn’t have the SB (six), but he does have 28HR, .305AVG.
- Gerrit Cole w/17 wins. There will be a lot of dollar bills thrown at him this offseason.
- Old Faithful. Nolan Arenado w/three 40-homer seasons…and counting. Stud hitter w/speed. Speed enough for two.
- We told you don’t mess w/Coors, ever. Joey Lucchesi is walking wounded. 3.2IP, 8ER.
- For baseball’s sake, I hope Joey Votto gets to 20HR. His humor will be missed when he hangs up his cleats.
- Austin Meadows boosts the draft stock. 30HR, 10SB, .289AVG.
- Will Charlie Morton continue to be an ace not in the ace category?
- You get one, you get both. Jose Abreu (33) & Eloy Jimenez (27) w/tag-team again.
- People must not need steals anymore. Mallex Smith w/two & ownership dropping (52%).
- Two Tickets to Paradise (Tribute)
- Willson Contreras (23) (Does two errors cancel out the tickets?).
- Khris Davis (22) (Did you trade for him while he was(is) terrible?) Discount in 2020.
- Paul Goldschmidt (31). No speed, but how deep will 1B be in 2020?
- Trevor Story. 32HR, 20SB, .297AVG calculates to a first-round pick in 2020.
- Kole Calhoun (31). Does Jo Adell take his spot in 2020?
- Have a great Saturday. Enjoy the day for what it is and what it brings.
- No Fear, Just Fantasy.
