Welcome to the April 14th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on the April 13th games. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings
- This is the year? Matt Boyd (1.86 ERA) tames Astros (6.2 IP, 1 ER, 4 K). Only one walk. Oak/KC next.
- Ramon Laureano (eight SB) has a little tattoo of the Road Runner.
- And why was Rafael Devers one of my early third round targets?..PLAKATA! Five HR in four games.
- Take Jimmy Johnson; take Tommy Thompson, Take my best friend Beaux; take any guy in this bar...but please....don't take Teoscar.
- Part-time lover, Hunter Renfroe (first HR) makes his case for some full attention.
- Max Kepler (three SB) snags another bag...his style and grace would rival a ballet dancer.
- The Buffalo does it again. Wilson Ramos leads MLB w/ 6 HR.
- Everyone seems to be frisky in 2021 as there is an abundance of SB contributors thus far.
- Yes, yes. Last second changes to the schedule, especially pitchers, are frustrating. Vent for a second and then send some well wishes to your guys. This one is for Kyle Hendricks.
- Stop!! Jed Lowrie continues trying to get your attention. Is a second HR enough? 14 hits (.333 AVG) enough?
- Faster, Mullins, faster.
- Riddle: Michael Conforto has 6 hits in 23 AB, but is not batting .261. How? (Answer below)
- Marcus Stroman (6 IP, 3 K) outpitches Aaron Nola! He skyrockets up the Love List. **Stop saying this! It don't work like that.**
- Blake Snell investors say: Automatic start vs. PIT, they said. It will be an easy win, they said. (0.2 IP, 3 ER, 2 BB, 1 K )
- Trent Grisham novel cont: It was like love at first sight. Beau waited four seconds before he krushed hard for Josephine. Emotions going wild, but he knew he had to play it Chad Kuhl.
- Keep an eye on Wil Myers...knee inflammation.
- Erik Gonzalez goes three-for-five. That's one way to get fired up.
- Attn! It was a great night at the demolition derby last night. Some of your favorites were on the receiving end of some gnarly destruction tactics. Here are the highlights: Jameson Taillon (3.2 IP, 5 ER); Max Fried (4 IP, 7 ER); Pablo Lopez (4 IP, 6 ER); Stephen Strasburg (4 IP, 7 ER)
- Blue Jays have so many options, but I'm sure you grabbed the best power guy, right? Oh, it wasn't Marcus Semien (four)? How rude.
- Lumberjack Rowdy Tellez fells a monster tree, widdles the wood into an object of chaos. First HR.
- This is not a good sign for Ryan Yarbrough (6 IP, 6 ER, 6 K).
- Ok, Kyle Gibson (7 IP, 1 ER, 3 K). I might consider your BAL start next.
- Randy Arozarena (2 HR, 1 SB, .317 AVG) only has one game without a hit. Yes, I'm happy with my draft choices.
- Can't stop, won't stop. Shohei Ohtani (fourth HR) showing all the moves.
- THUNDER! Willson Contreras (two) with a 438-foot cowhide rain.
- You ask Adam Duvall to grab you a drink when he goes to the kitchen. He comes back double-fisting some brews while balancing seven ribs...and he ain't sharing.
- Marlins score 14 runs so Marcell Ozuna's (first HR) and Ozzie Albies' (second HR) exploits go under-appreciated. Well done, gentlemen.
- This is why we can't have nice things. We'll get you a win the next time we go to the store, Brandon Woodruff.
- Whit Merrifield alternating power/speed weeks. 3/3....heading towards 20/20 validation.
- Matt Carpenter hits a HR?! Don't even need to check my rosters to see if he's there.
- Paul Goldschmidt (one) & Nolan Arenado (three) opening a power brokerage firm?
- It's Akil Baddoo with four taters mashed, while Arozarena only has two peeled.
- Shane Bieber - Lucas Giolito battle was epic!
- Trevor Bauer makes it look easy (7 IP, 9 K)...or was it the Rockies offense.
- It would be disturbing if Mookie Betts didn't return w/ a long ball for his friends.
- Looky here! Looky here! Mike Moustakas (two) is back screaming YAHTZEE!
- Conforto answer: Yep, he has three hits and has been hit three times. **Insert dad joke womp-womp here**
