Welcome to the September 12th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on September 11th games. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings
- Aaron Nola (5-3) started his own Mardi Gras. Seven-inning CG, 10 K. Beads for everyone.
- Hey 2021, I will not be sucked into Mike Tauchman again. (3-for-3 with SB is a tease).
- Gerrit Cole cruises to 7 IP, 9 K win, CG.
- Red Hots Update:
- **If a player is hitting well, run with it. It’s not a difficult concept.**
- DJ Stewart - 6 HR, 18 R+RBI, .476 AVG last six games. (19% rostered) - 27.8% Brl/BBE. 100.6 mph avg exit velo (LD/FB)
- Adalberto Mondesi has three combo meals in the last five games. He’s feeling frisky. Why aren’t you trying to benefit?
- Luke Voit using the force to elevate his skills to Trout’s 16-HR level.
- 25.1-degree Launch Angle serving Rhys Hoskins well. 10th addition to the star constellations.
- Sometimes it appears to be fools gold. How many ran to Trevor Rogers? 3 IP, 8 ER. Mercy.
- Sing with me.Hey Mambo, Mambo Dominicanos. As boring as Jean Segura has been in 2020, his seven RBI & .320 AVG last week were helpful.
- When you steal, I steal. Just like that. Juan Soto (three) following Trea Turner’s (nine) lead & running grooves into basepaths.
- Marcell Ozuna parlayed 12 SB (& more in 2019) into deal w/Braves. His current 14 HR, 69 R+RBI, .322 AVG (zero SB attempts) translates to what in 2021? Stay w/ Braves, please.
- Austin Meadows’ youth, power, & speed potential will keep him in the third round of 2021 drafts. 31% Chase, 31% K, and 12% SwingStrike rates will be viewed as anomalies
- Andres Gimenez. I’ve been talking you up & you leave six men behind? No! Don’t point to Pete Alonso’s eight LOB or 17-run lead. No excuse.
- THUNDAH!! Matt Olson (13) unleashed the dogs. They tore through cowhide & stitching like it was a 426-foot grand salami.
- Finally, Brandon Lowe steals two bases. We weren’t crazy.
- Of course, Michael Conforto is 27 years old & “hitting his stride.” 9 HR, 65 R+RBI, 3 SB, .343 AVG
- The clouds part, the sun shines through & Jacob deGrom gets some run support. Fourth win.
- Brandon Woodruff, teach your teammates your secrets.
- Another FAB weekend upcoming. How much do the Rays suck you back into Nate Lowe (two-HR night)?
- Blake Snell snags 4th win. 22.2% K rate & 3.16 xFIP. Still, he might not cost as much in 2021 as 2020.
- Prediction. J.D. Martinez takes a couple of days off & returns to hit well for the final week. 2020 managers suffer, but his value stays status quo in 2021 as “oh, he’s alright, just a weird year.” He'll probably get a pass even if he doesn't do anything for the rest of the year.
- My dearest Isabella, we miss you. I hope your studies abroad have been everything you imagined. Take care of yourself. Oh, before I forget, there was a rare Josh Bell homer sighting. It was a majestic 426-feet. Too bad you missed it.
- Dangit, Rougned Odor. What did I say? We’re done. You can’t just hit homers (four) whenever you feel like it, hoping I’ll come back.
- Sean Murphy has been awful. Only 19% saw that 97.2 mph exit velo on LD/FB (ranks 15th) & stuck around to enjoy three HR in five games.
- Kenta Maeda outpitched Shane Bieber. "YES! AHAHAHA. YES! I told them he was better. A direct contest now proves it.” What are you talking about? Someone is going to commit you for lunacy.
- Ryan Jeffers (second tater), you’ve been a great fill-in. Thank you.
- How noble. Eloy Jiminez allows Yoan Moncada to rest as he planned a 12th HR all along. So sweet.
- Lucas Giolito laughs at your idea of an easy victory. 5.2 IP, 3 ER, 7 K.
- Attention discount shoppers. The time to buy low on Luis Castillo (9 IP, 1 ER, 6 K) has now closed.
- Wish more people respected German Marquez (3.53 FIP). I know, it’s all about Coors. 7 IP, 2 ER, 5 K at home.
- Alex Young as a follower? Brilliant. Second win.
- Dylan Moore walks into your local Panera Bread to order a Pick -Two. Seventh HR/10th SB. Personally, I’d find better places.
- Endgame
- Stefan Crichton (one). New man in town?
- Taylor Rogers (nine)
- Yimi Garcia (one)
- Alex Colome (10)
- Greg Holland (four). No questions, right?
- Erasmo Ramirez (one). Three-inning variety. Don’t do anything.
- Stop grinning, Sean Doolittle. Daniel Hudson’s BS (1 IP, 3 ER) hurts the whole team. Plus, you're not next.
- Ken Giles. Yes! 1 IP, 1 ER. No!
- The weekend is here and there is a bunch of sports to be had. Enjoy it all. You deserve it. Don't forget to plan your FAB strategically. There's not much time left. Don't have a wasted spot on your roster. Underperforming players go the way of the dodo.
