Welcome to the Saturday, June 2nd edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on June 2nd. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings
- Wait til I get my Heaney on you! It sounds like a familiar tag line. Well, this Andrew Heaney tag line brings 10K and a QS. If not for Edwin Encarnacion (two HR), it might have been a dominant outing that led to a W.
- Renato Nunez. He throwing 15th bomb over the wall but 37% owned. We’ve raised it a mere four percent from yesterday. With so much power in the world, maybe it's just me scrounging for every stat I can find.
- Usurpers, Mount Up! Nathaniel Lowe (3% owned) back again 1-for-3; Oh, and did I mention Kevin Cron is back in town.
- Kyle Gibson, dropped by many after his first couple of starts. He has 2.64ERA over last 47.2IP w/six W. Only 46% Owned?! and Detroit next? Fix this!
- Keston Hiura & Mike Moustakas day. Moose adds another bomb(16) and Hiura has his second-straight game w/tater(five), this one off Felipe Vazquez no less. Travis Shaw breaking a sweat.
- Starling Marte 3-for-4 w/three RBI, seventh HR. Buy low gone.
- Karma Award - Josh Naylor hit first HR off of, none other than, the Miami Marlins. It’s nice to talk about but I won’t be owning him on my teams.
- “Bottom of the ninth, one out, & the score is tied. Smith steps to the plate.” How many times did Smith say that when he was a little tyke playing baseball. Then he did it vs Phillies. & now his FAAB value doubled. Because it's your special day...Will Smith...you've been THUNDERSTRUCK!!
- Joey Gallo smacked 17th moonshot(.276AVG) before leaving w/oblique injury. Likely IL trip. Hopefully he’s not gone too long.
- Matt Adams hits HR(six) every few days, but providing little else right now. He's a batting AVG risk.
- BOOM BOOM Riley. Austin Riley w/eighth HR in 63 at-bats. $4,276.89 + first-born-son FAAB bid was so worth it.
- Mike Trout getting hot, 3.8WAR second only to Cody Bellinger. How can anyone trade this guy? I know, team concept, but I would figure out another way.
- Carlos Martinez w/SV. Stretch him out vs bullpen? They don’t know what they want to do. It makes his a risky owner. If he has the closer job, value skyrockets, which isn’t difficult cause he has none now.
- Danny Jansen w/first hit in six games. AVG at .167. Putrid. Yeah, I know he has a .215BABIP. Knowing my luck, he’ll hit a HR tonight right before I dump him.
- Rhinestone Cowboy Award: Adam Jones w/12th HR, 37RBI, .283AVG. 5%BB, 16%K. You still deserve some respect.
- FAAB Collection:
- All too often players do well at the end of the week. It is as if they know that the FAAB run is happening on Sunday so they need to raise their value. Latest contributor: Will Smith w/game winning bomb on Saturday.
- Others: Mitch Keller, D.J. Stewart, Zach Plesac, Will Smith, Mike Yastrzemski, Jon Duplantier
