Welcome to the Wednesday, June 12th edition of Daily Slivers of the Fantasy Soapbox.
Discussing baseball is as fun as the game itself. It has a way of bringing people together to share different opinions about the sport we all love. A similar action can be done with fantasy baseball where we not only discuss topics but also look to improve our teams as well as the teams of our fellow fantasy baseball enthusiasts. Everyone has their own perspectives which are not to be cast off as frivolous. They should be used as a method of expanding our own knowledge.
In this article, I review the previous day's boxscores and provide my opinion on a variety of topics. Some will be random, some will be fun, and some will be stat-driven. It's a soapbox so I may rant from time to time as well. So without any further delay, below are my thoughts on June 12th. Enjoy them. You can even respond with your own thoughts on Twitter @EllisCan2.

Daily Musings
- Thank you Yadier Molina for returning in time to take care of Dakota Hudson (W, seven IP, six K)
- No Brendan Rodgers against righties, someone says. Ok. Benched against Yu Darvish is understandable. At least he’ll start against southpaw Jose Quintana. No?! There is a flame inside my noggin that only mashing it against a wall will even attempt to extinguish. Rockies, you are maddening. Why did I put myself in this position? I should have known better with David Dahl, Raimel Tapia, Garrett Hampson, and Ryan McMahon. Oh, you gave him a late-inning at-bat (hit)? Should have been the whole game. Stick with a plan.
- Braves w/back-to-back HR x two, in same inning. (Josh Donaldson/Nick Markakis & James McCann/Ozzie Albies). HR for everyone!
- Last 30 days, Shohei Ohtani has 7HR, 20RBI, .271AVG & now a SB. Full package coming to fruition. 56% owned. Disrespectful. See if your competitor is selling.
- Max Muncy is on a tear right now. 5HR, 9RBI, .326AVG in two weeks. Falling back to earth hasn’t happened yet.
- Charles Cobb Blackmon. His wheels may be slowing down (two SB), but his bat is not. (12HR, .306AVG). Keep it up, young man.
- Trevor Bauer w/five BB. Hmmm.
- When it's going good, nothing can get in your way. Hunter Pence handed an inside-the-park HR (14).
- Chris Paddack has fallen back to mediocrity for another outing (5IP, 3ER, 6K). Even against SF! I wouldn’t start him against COL. Not even I am that stubborn.
- Fernando Tatis Jr. is a firecracker (eighth HR). Now they just need the rest of the lineup to follow suit.
- Jason Heyward (be thankful, this might be the only mention you’ll get this year) homered and is making my weekly OF waiver wire recommendations look even better.
- Peter Lambert at Coors vs. Cubs, was sneaky good. (5IP, 1ER, 3K). You’re growing on me. Streamer stuff here.
- Nick Castellanos, is that you? I thought I heard a Detroit HR. It’s been too long (seventh HR). We welcome a robust outburst.
- Whit Merrifield, you still steal bases(nine)?! First one in 17 games.
- Peter Alonso knows how to deposit a ball long distance (22HR). What’s so special about that? So can Brett Gardner (10).
- Sneaky production w/Marcell Ozuna. 18HR, 55RBI, 6SB. No hype.
- Sit down, rookie. Jon Duplantier put on his backside after three IP, four ER. Scott Kingery (seventh HR) and Phillies don’t play around.
- Boring Christian Yelich HR. YAWN!
- Reporter asks Travis Shaw his thoughts of Keston Hiura. His response: THUNDER!!! Fith HR.
- Jose Abreu AVG down to .246. Don’t give up. Just like you didn’t give up on Eloy Jimenez (ninth HR).
- Jorge Polanco. AL extra-base hit leader (35).
- 1B ump throwing out players while their back is turned to them? Sen-sa-tive!
- Yordan Alvarez (second HR) is looking for the 1%ers. Well, it ain't me but I have stayed in a Holiday Inn in the last six months. I’m ALL IN!
- To all you good baseball people, Have a great hump-day baseball. Chirinos!
