In the preseason, we brought you Daily League Strategy Part 1 and Part 2. Now, all season long, I will be giving you my advice on whom to start in your daily fantasy lineups. For now, this advice will cater to those who play on Fanduel. They offer some of the best gaming options for beginners, intermediate, and expert level players. Our job here at RotoBaller is to make your daily fantasy gaming experience a fun and successful one. Whether you are new to the daily fantasy scene or have been playing for years, our columns will be up-to-date and useful for all levels of experience. If you are new to the scene, tweet me at @RotoCole and I will personally show you the ropes. Let’s win together. Ladies (one or two reading this) and gentlemen, here is your late game Daily Fantasy Baseball lineup advice for all games on May 9th, 2013:
Thursday Play of the Day: SS Ruben Tejada ($2,400) - He is a must-play at SS in all formats for everyone. Why? Because he is 3-3 against lefty Jeff Locke. On top of that he collected two hits yesterday, and his bargain price will allow you to spend more in other spots.
RotoCole's Fanduel Lineup:
P: Jason Vargas ($5,300) - Went the full 9 innings in his last start, went 8 innings in his start before that, and went 7 innings in the one before that. I like how he is pitching deep into ball games against better offenses than Houston, and I think he has a legit chance at a shutout tonight. In fact, that is my call. Jason Vargas - 9 IP, 6 H, 2 BB, 0 ER.
C: Victor Martinez ($3,100) - Faces Dan Haren tonight, against whom V-Mart is 9-25 for his career.
1B: Prince Fielder ($5,000) - Is 3-5 in his career against Haren and is part of daily fantasy's best stack.
2B: Omar Infante ($3,200) - I don't like where he hits in the order but I wouldn't doubt him still getting 5 ABs tonight.
3B: Miguel Cabrera ($5,400) - Cabrera should go bonkers again tonight for Detroit. He is officially the LeBron James of baseball. I guess that makes Prince the Dwyane Wade.
SS: Ruben Tejada ($2,400) - Play of the Day
OF: Jacoby Ellsbury ($3,600) - The price just keeps getting lower for a guy who has major potential, especially against a middle-of-the-road RHP like Kevin Correia.
OF: Shane Victorino ($3,500) - He's 6-14 with a HR in his career against Correia and the ball is being mashed in Boston right now.
OF: Nick Swisher ($3,400) - Against Bartolo Colon, he is 5-10 with a HR.
Last, but certainly not least, make sure you check today's lineups before setting your team!
