In the preseason, we brought you Daily League Strategy Part 1 and Part 2. Now, all season long, I will be giving you my advice on whom to start in your daily fantasy lineups. For now, this advice will cater to those who play on Fanduel. They offer some of the best gaming options for beginners, intermediate, and expert level players. Our job here at RotoBaller is to make your daily fantasy gaming experience a fun and successful one. Whether you are new to the daily fantasy scene or have been playing for years, our columns will be up-to-date and useful for all levels of experience. If you are new to the scene, tweet me at @RotoCole and I will personally show you the ropes. Let’s win together. Ladies (one or two reading this) and gentlemen, here is your late game Daily Fantasy Baseball lineup advice for all games on May 7th, 2013:
Tuesday Start of the Day: 1B Billy Butler ($3,400) - He's a bargain at $3.4K and faces Chen from Baltimore, a pitcher Butler is 5-6 against with 2 HR. He even has a TRIPLE in his career against Chen, so you know the matchup is good.
RotoCole's Fanduel Lineup:
P: Ryan Dempster ($7,800) - Has a great matchup against the offensively challenged Minnesota Twins. I like him to pile up 8-9 Ks over 7 innings.
C: Joe Mauer ($3,300) - Super cheap and probably the only good option to start for the Twins.
1B: Billy Butler ($3,400) - PLAY OF THE DAY
2B: Jose Altuve ($3,600) - Faces CJ Wilson, who has been walking everybody. I think Altuve gets on base via hit or walk a few times and steals a base.
3B: Evan Longoria ($4,100) - Homered last night and has a great chance against lefty JA Happ to keep it going.
SS: Dee Gordon ($3,200) - Should collect multiple hits against Brandon McCarthy, who gives up a ton of hits. Once he's on base, he's a force to be reckoned with. Start him before his salary rises to $4K.
OF: Andre Ethier ($2,800) - Has the same great matchup as Dee Gordon against McCarthy and he has a chance to post multiple hits.
OF: Josh Hamilton ($3,100) - WHAT AM I DOING? OK, just hear me out: Hamilton faces the ever-hittable Jordan Lyles of Houston. Hamilton has big muscles. Hamilton was good at one point. Perhaps Hamilton saves his season, starting today? Maybe? I'll take the chance at $3.1K.
OF: Carl Crawford ($3,800) - Crawford has quietly been very good this season. And while you may stay away from him for injury reasons in your season-long league, there's nothing to fear here in the daily fantasy world. I think he hits an RBI triple tonight. That's my call.
Make sure you check today's lineups before setting your team!
