NHL DFS Picks for Saturday, February 6th, 2016
There are 12 games in the NHL on Saturday with four in the afternoon leaving us eight games on the primetime slate. Three road teams (PIT, WPG, CGY) are playing on back to back nights and could be skating on tired legs Saturday. Choosing a goalie has been a bit tricky out of the All Star break with so many high scoring games and upsets. As always, when targeting a cash game goalie we will look for an elite option at home in a game where they are favorites to win. For GPP's you can almost go any direction you want tonight with the goalie position.
Let's take a look at a few core plays for tonight.
Brian Elliott - Goaltender, Blues (DraftKings - $8,100 FanDuel - $8,400)
Elliott has been terrific in net filling in for the injured Jake Allen. In his last 10 games he has gone 6-3-1 with a 1.82 GAA and .941 save % for the Blues. They are at home on Saturday night as -140 favorites as the Wild come to town. Great spot for the Blues and Elliott to pick up a win. He is safe in any format.
Joe Thornton - Center, Sharks (DraftKings - $5,200 FanDuel - $5,900)
Big Joe remains an outstanding value in daily fantasy hockey with a very affordable salary on both sites. He has put together a terrific season to this point with 42 point in 50 games on the Sharks top line. Stack with Joe Pavelski and Tomas Hertl tonight for maximum exposure to the Sharks.
Daniel Sedin - Winger, Canucks (DraftKings - $6,400 FanDuel - $7,800)
After a zero point outing last game vs. CBJ his price has dropped $200 on FanDuel. He is still very affordable on DraftKings and makes a great play tonight as the Canucks host the Flames. In two earlier meetings, Sedin has recorded three points on 12 shots with a +3 rating.
Chris Kunitz - Winger, Penguins (DraftKings - $4,500 FanDuel - $6,600)
While his linemate Patric Hornqvist has been a terrific value with a high floor, his salary has started to climb. If you are still looking for cheap exposure to the Crosby line, Kunitz makes a terrific play on DraftKings. He is close to $2K cheaper and in his last 10 games he has recorded 10 points with a +5 rating.
Erik Karlsson - Defense, Senators (DraftKings - $7,500 FanDuel - $7,100)
If you are spending up for a D man tonight there is no better option than Karlsson. He is in a great spot at home against the Leafs in what could be a high scoring game. Karlsson has been great this year with 55 points(19 on PP) in 52 games and has averaged close to four shots on net a game. In his last meeting with the Leafs he picked up three assists in a 5-4 shootout win.
