Welcome to the Daily Fantasy Hockey (NHL DFS) lineup picks article for February 27th of the 2015/2016 NHL season. Each day we'll be providing you with a handful of forward, defensemen, and goaltender picks for DraftKings and FanDuel GPP and cash games.

Saturday's games are split a little different between the two sites. On DraftKings you have a choice between an All Day slate(9 games), an Early Slate(5 games) or a Late Slate(4 Games). On FanDuel there is no All Day slate. A pick for both the Early and Late slate for each position will be included below..

It will be another great night of hockey highlighted by another installment of the NHL Stadium Series. The Colorado Avalanche will be hosting the Detroit Red Wings at Coors Field on Saturday night.

NHL DFS Picks for Saturday, February 27th

A couple strategy notes. For cash game construction look for players who can contribute to your score when they are not providing offense. Examples are guys who take a ton of shots, defensemen who block a lot of shots(DraftKings). Also, look for guys who get powerplay time and especially Top 6 forwards. You can find value in players who join a new line due to an injury or just get a promotion and more ice time.

For large field tournaments (GPP's) you want to find payers who have multi point upside and can grab double digit fantasy points. To stack the most upside in your forwards a common strategy is to punt the defense position. This doesn't mean just grab anyone. Try and look for a D man who will be playing more PP time or might get a boost in overall playing time due to an injury.

Let's take a look at some solid plays for today's action.

Pekka Rinne - Goaltender, Predators (Draftkings - $7,700  FanDuel - $8,100)

Great value in the early slate for a goalie on a hot streak. He has gone 3-0-1 in his last four games and has only allowed four goals in total. He is starting to like the Rinne of old and makes a great GPP play for the early slate in a tough matchup vs. the Blues.

Jonathan Quick - Goaltender, Kings (Draftkings - $8,400  FanDuel - $8,800)

Coming off three straight wins allowing only one goal against in each. In fact, he has only allowed more than two goals against once in eight games since the All Star break. Great matchup vs. the Sabres who have lost two straight and seven of their last 10 games.

Mark Scheifele - Center, Jets (DraftKings - $5,400  FanDuel - $6,200)

He makes a nice contrarian GPP play today as the Pens are heavily favored in the game. Scheifele is coming off a four point game and has scored in three of his last four games.

Jeff Carter - Center, Kings (DraftKings - $5,900  FanDuel - $6,800)

In the late games both Kings centers make great options vs. the Sabres but it's hard to pass up the discount for similar production. Carter has 42 points on the season and has added a nice floor as he has recorded 170 shots on the season. The Kings will be a top stacking option Saturday night.

Jaromir Jagr - Winger, Panthers (DraftKings - $5,600  FanDuel - $5,800)

The ageless one keeps producing in the NHL and makes a great fantasy play. He recently turned 44 years old and has exactly that many points on the season. You won't find a more reliable option in the mid $5k price range on a given night.

Mark Stone - Winger, Senators (DraftKings - $5,500  FanDuel - $5,600)

Terrific value play on Saturday in a potential high scoring game. Stone has scored a goal in three of his last four and has seven goals in his last 10 games including two on the powerplay and one short handed.

Shayne Gostisbehere - Winger, Flyers (DraftKings - $5,900  FanDuel - $5,200)

The point streak finally came to an end at 15 games and now he has gone back to back pointless games. Great spot to get back on track in a home matchup vs. the Coyotes who are brutal on the road and rank dead last in goals allowed per game.

Erik Karlsson - Winger, Senators (DraftKings - $8,000  FanDuel - $7,300)

A great way to differentiate yourself in GPP's is to pay up for at least one D man. If you are paying up grab the guy with the most upside. The Sens face the Flames on Saturday night in a game with the biggest potential for barn burner.
