Welcome to the Daily Fantasy Hockey (NHL DFS) lineup picks article for Sunday, February 21st of the 2015/2016 NHL season. Each day we'll be providing you with a handful of forward, defensemen, and goaltender picks for DraftKings and FanDuel GPP and cash games.

It's a busy Sunday with six games starting at 12:30 P.M. ET. Then at 3:30 P.M. ET we have another outdoor game taking place in Minnesota between the Blackhawks and Wild.

It was a very busy week for some teams and there are four teams (COL, TB, DET, PIT) playing on back to back nights with all on the road.

A situation to monitor on Sunday will be the status of Marc Andre Fleury of the Pittsburgh Penguins. He was a late scratch yesterday afternoon and with the team playing on back to back games on the road they will most likely keep him out again Sunday. Also note on the Penguins, Evgeni Malkin is also ruled out for Sunday's game with a knee injury.

One more injury to monitor will be the status of Dylan Larkin for the Red Wings. The rookie was ruled out on Saturday due to an illness and if he misses Sunday as well Gustav Nyquist becomes a nice value option as a top 6 forward.

NHL DFS Picks for Sunday, February 21st

A couple strategy notes. For cash game construction look for players who can contribute to your score when they are not providing offense. Examples are guys who take a ton of shots, defensemen who block a lot of shots(DraftKings). Also, look for guys who get powerplay time and especially Top 6 forwards. You can find value in players who join a new line due to an injury or just get a promotion and more ice time.

For large field tournaments (GPP's) you want to find payers who have multi point upside and can grab double digit fantasy points. To stack the most upside in your forwards a common strategy is to punt the defense position. This doesn't mean just grab anyone. Try and look for a D man who will be playing more PP time or might get a boost in overall playing time due to an injury.

Let's take a look at some solid plays for today's action.

Corey Crawford -  Goaltender, Blackhawks (DraftKings - $8,100  FanDuel - $9,900)

It will be a tremendous atmosphere as an outdoor game will finally be played in Minnesota. Although the Wild have won three straight coming in, the Blackhawks will prove to be a tall task on Sunday as they have experience in these games. We should be in for a low scoring game with the Blackhawks coming out on top and disappointing the home crowd.

Ryan Getzlaf - Center, Ducks (Draftkings - $6,000  FanDuel - $8,100)

He has been lights out for the Ducks since the All Star Break with 15 points in his last 10 games. He is drastically under priced on DraftKings and is an elite play on Sunday at home vs. the Flames who rank 27th in goals allowed per game(3.04).

Artemi Panarin - Winger, Blackhawks (DraftKings - $6,700  FanDuel - $7,200)

He leads all rookies with 57 points on the season and has been red hot coming into the Stadium Series game in Minnesota. Since the All Star Break he has tallied 11 points in just six games and added 17 shots on goal. He makes a great high ceiling GPP play on Sunday as four of his last five games have been multi point efforts.

Jarome Iginla - Winger, Avalanche (DraftKings - $4,700  FanDuel - $5,800)

He continues to provide tremendous value for the Avs skating on the second line with Matt Duchene and Mikhail Grigorenko. He picked up another point in last nights game and now has points in seven of his last eight games. The Avs get another great matchup on Sunday as they face the struggling Canucks who have allowed five goals to their opponents in each of the last four games.

Cam Fowler - Defense, Ducks (DraftKings - $4,100  FanDuel - $4,400)

To fit in some of the big names on a short slate you are going to need to dive down a bit when filling out your defense slots. Fowler is a great pick today as he has really started to come into his own lately with six points in his last four games including two multi point games.
