Welcome to the Daily Fantasy Hockey (NHL DFS) lineup picks article for February 20th of the 2015/2016 NHL season. Each day we'll be providing you with a handful of forward, defensemen, and goaltender picks for DraftKings and FanDuel GPP and cash games.

Tonight we have eight games on the schedule with some terrific matchups. Seven of the bottom 10 teams in goals allowed per game are in action which could mean some high scoring games on Saturday night.

NHL DFS Picks for Saturday, February 20th

A couple strategy notes. For cash game construction look for players who can contribute to your score when they are not providing offense. Examples are guys who take a ton of shots, defensemen who block a lot of shots(DraftKings). Also, look for guys who get powerplay time and especially Top 6 forwards. You can find value in players who join a new line due to an injury or just get a promotion and more ice time.

For large field tournaments (GPP's) you want to find players who have multi point upside and can grab double digit fantasy points. To stack the most upside in your forwards a common strategy is to punt the defense position. This doesn't mean just grab anyone. Try and look for a D man who will be playing more PP time or might get a boost in overall playing time due to an injury.

Stacking is also a must if you are to win or consistently cash in any format. For cash games a few two player stacks spreads the risk while two full line stacks has raise your ceiling for tournaments.

Let's take a look at some solid plays for today's action.

Roberto Luongo - Goaltender, Panthers (DraftKings - $8,100  FanDuel - $8,900)

The Panthers are -145 favorites at home on Saturday as they face the struggling Jets. Luongo has been pedestrian since the All Star Break going 2-1-1 and allowing three or more goals in all five games. The salary has come back down to where it was pre break making him a great value in a great spot for a bounce back.

Connor McDavid - Center, Oilers (Draftkings - $7,000  FanDuel - $7,600)

He gets another great matchup tonight in a potential high scoring game vs. the Avalanche. The Oilers will look to get revenge on the Avs who beat them 5-1 back in December when McDavid was on the injured reserve. McDavid has been terrific since returning with 14 points (four on the PP) in nine games. He is playing like $8K player for $7k prices.

Alex Ovechkin - Winger, Capitals (DraftKings - $9,000  FanDuel - $10,000)

If you are playing stars and scrubs tonight, Ovechkin makes the safest high priced pick who also has elite upside. He has recorded 10 shots on goal in three of his last four games and has tallied 10 goals in his last 10 games. The game features the leagues #1 offense(Caps) vs. the #1 defense(Devils) and if the Caps are going to win on the road they will need Ovi to have a productive game.

Jaden Schwartz - Winger, Blues (DraftKings - $5,300  FanDuel - $6,000)

He has scored a goal in three of his four games since returning from an injury back in October. His ice time has trended up in each game back and he is skating on a line with Vladimir Tarasenko and Jori Lehtera. The Blues get a great matchup on Saturday and should be able to score some goals against the Coyotes who are ranked 29th in goals allowed per game.

Shayne Gostisbehere - Defense, Flyers (DraftKings - $5,900  FanDuel - $5,200)

The rookie phenom just keeps producing for the Flyers and continues to provide elite value in daily fantasy. He extended his rookie record point streak to 14 games with an assist last night vs. the Habs and came oh so close to picking up his 4th OT winner. He gets another excellent matchup on Saturday as the Flyers travel to Toronto for a meeting with the Leafs who rank 24th in goals
