Welcome to the Daily Fantasy Hockey (NHL DFS) lineup picks article for February 16th of the 2015/2016 NHL season. Each day we'll be providing you with a handful of forward, defensemen, and goaltender picks for DraftKings and FanDuel GPP and cash games.
There are eight games in the NHL tonight with two teams(DAL, ANH) playing on back to back nights and four teams(ANH, BOS, NJ, PHI) who are playing a third game in four nights. The player pool is full of goalies tonight whether you like to pay up or find value. Jonathan Quick should be returning tonight from a lower body injury but should be avoided as the Kings are on the road and face a tough mathcup in Washington.

NHL DFS Picks for Tuesday, February 16th
A couple strategy notes. For cash game construction look for players who can contribute to your score when they are not providing offense. Examples are guys who take a ton of shots, defensemen who block a lot of shots(DraftKings). Also, look for guys who get powerplay time and especially Top 6 forwards. You can find value in players who join a new line due to an injury or just get a promotion and more ice time.
For large field tournaments (GPP's) you want to find players who have multi point upside and can grab double digit fantasy points. To stack the most upside in your forwards a common strategy is to punt the defense position. This doesn't mean just grab anyone. Try and look for a D man who will be playing more PP time or might get a boost in overall playing time due to an injury.
Stacking is also a must if you are to win or consistently cash in any format. For cash games a few two player stacks spreads the risk while two full line stacks has raise your ceiling for tournaments.
Let's take a look at some solid plays for today's action.
Cory Schneider - Goaltender, Devils (DraftKings - $8,300 FanDuel - $8,800)
He is a very affordable option on both sites tonight and gets a terrific matchup vs. the struggling Flyers. This will be his fourth meeting with them this season and has gone 2-0-1 with a .929 save percentage. The Devils are favored in tonight's matchup and have a great opportunity to pick up another win.
Connor McDavid - Center, Oilers (Draftkings - $7,000 FanDuel - $7,600)
While his price has climbed over $1000 since he returned from injury he is still under priced for the production he has been providing. This just shows you how great of a value he has been for the DFS lately. He has recorded 12 points in his seven games back including three multi point games.
Blake Wheeler - Winger, Jets (DraftKings - $7,000 FanDuel - $7,000)
He has quietly lead the Jets this season in points(52 in 55 games) while providing terrific value for daily fantasy. Not only does he provide upside with the scoring(8 points in last 10 games), he also provides a stable floor averaging close to four shots on goal per game and has also added three PP points in the past 10 games.
Jeff Skinner - Winger, Hurricanes (DraftKings - $4,800 FanDuel - $6,000)
He is a terrific value play that will only cost you around 10% of your salary cap on both sites. He has been hot lately with points in six of his last seven games with a total of 25 shots on goal. He gets a favorable home matchup against the Jets tonight who rank 24th in goals allowed per game and have been much worse away from Winnipeg.
Seth Jones - Defense, Blue Jackets (DraftKings - $4,800 FanDuel - $4,900)
He is close to a must play right now under $5K on both sites. Since being traded from Nashville he has really started to show his offensive upside and terrific DFS value. Not only does he have six points in his last 10 games for the Blue Jackets, he has also provided 24 shots on goal and 19 blocks to go with an impressive +3 rating on a poor defensive team.
