Welcome to the Daily Fantasy Hockey (NHL DFS) lineup picks article for February 10th of the 2015/2016 NHL season. Each day we'll be providing you with a handful of forward, defensemen, and goaltender picks for DraftKings and FanDuel GPP and cash games.
Tonight we have a super small three game slate in the NHL so lowering your exposure to cash games might be wise. There will be plenty of overlap in players tonight so if you want to go contrarian try stacking a teams second or third line. Only the Vancouver Canucks are playing on back to back nights but on a short slate it will be hard to avoid any team. As of now only Petr Mrazek for the Red Wings has been confirmed starting.

NHL DFS Picks for Wednesday, February 10th
A couple strategy notes. For cash game construction look for players who can contribute to your score when they are not providing offense. Examples are guys who take a ton of shots, defensemen who block a lot of shots(DraftKings). Also, look for guys who get powerplay time and especially Top 6 forwards. You can find value in players who join a new line due to an injury or just get a promotion and more ice time.
For large field tournaments (GPP's) you want to find payers who have multi point upside and can grab double digit fantasy points. To stack the most upside in your forwards a common strategy is to punt the defense position. This doesn't mean just grab anyone. Try and look for a D man who will be playing more PP time or might get a boost in overall playing time due to an injury.
Let's take a look at some solid plays for today's action.
Petr Mrazek - Goaltender, Red Wings (DraftKings - $7,900 FanDuel - $9,400)
He has been on fire lately for the Red Wings going 9-2-1 over his previous 12 starts. In that time he has posted three shutouts and a very impressive .952 save percentage. The Red Wings are at home on Wednesday as favorites(-170) to the visiting Senators and Mrazek has another great opportunity to pickup a win.
Sidney Crosby - Center, Penguins (Draftkings - $8,100 FanDuel - $10,700)
There is no hotter player in the league right now than Crosby. He has 20 points in his last 10 games including five multi point games three double fantasy point nights. The price is crazy high on FanDuel but over at DraftKings where the salary has slowly climbed, he is a terrific play tonight. The Penguins will be without Evgeni Malkin for at least another week and will need Crosby to carry the offense as the Penguins fight for the playoffs.
Pavel Datsyuk - Center, Red Wings (DraftKings - $6,000 FanDuel - $6,800)
If you don't want to spend up for Crosby and want to go more balanced, targeting the Red Wings makes a great option. Datsyuk is coming off back to back games with multiple points and has fired seven shots on goal in two of his last three games. The Red Wings have won the previous two meetings between these clubs outscoring the Sens 9-6.
Dylan Larkin - Winger/Center, Red Wings (DraftKings - $5,600 FanDuel - $6,400)
Another Red Winger forward who has been producing for fantasy owners at an affordable price. He has recorded eight points in his last seven games and sits second in rookie points with 28 on the season. He hasn't seen success on the powerplay yet but averaging over 2:00 and playing with the talent around him, it will come very soon.
Chris Kreider - Winger, Rangers (DraftKings - $4,400 FanDuel - $5,800)
The Rangers have won three straight and six of their last eight games. After a very slow start, Kreider has started to come on lately with seven points in his last 10 games including 33 shots and a +3 rating. He lacks upside as the powerplay just hasn't been there for the Rangers (Ranked 28th at 16%) but he provides terrific value on a short slate, especially on DraftKings under $4.5K.
Kris Letang - Defense, Penguins (DraftKings - $6,700 FanDuel - $7,200)
When looking at the Defense landscape, Letang has been one of the most consistent producers over the past month and a half. Since Christmas he has recorded 25 points with nine coming on the powerplay. The Penguins seemed to have turned a corner when they hired new head coach Mike Sullivan. He has raised the level of play of his stars and it has pushed the Pens into a playoff spot. It is a tougher matchup vs. the Rangers but on a short slate no one is off limits.
Cody Ceci - Defense. Senators (DraftKings - $3,900 FanDuel - $4,000)
He has provided terrific value at the D spot lately with eight points(2 on PP) in his last 10 games including 17 shots, 19 blocks and a +1 rating. He is averaging over 19:00 of ice time on the 3rd unit for Ottawa but is also getting some run on the top PP unit. You will need some low end value tonight on a short slate and Ceci can provide this value at punt prices.
