NHL DFS Picks for Tuesday, January 26th, 2016
Welcome back for another night of daily fantasy hockey picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. Tonight we have nine games on the schedule with five teams (ARI, BUF, CBJ, MTL, BOS) playing on back to back nights. All teams besides Toronto, Nashville and Colorado will be playing their last game before the NHL All Star break starting on Thursday.
Let's take a look at a few core plays for tonight.
Roberto Luongo - Goaltender, Panthers (DraftKings - $8,100 FanDuel - $9,300)
After a three game losing streak, Luongo has gotten back on track with back to back wins against Chicago and Tampa Bay. He has pushed his record to 21-13-4 with an impressive .930 save % on the season. Atlantic Division leading Panthers are early -195 favorites as they face the Leafs who have lost seven of their last 10 games.
Sidney Crosby - Center, Penguins (DraftKings - $7,300 FanDuel - $8,600)
He is back to elite fantasy status with points in six straight games including three multi points games. The price is still at a range that provides a high floor with a ton of upside. The Penguins are big favorites(-180) on Tuesday and will look to get revenge on their division rival New Jersey Devils who shut them out earlier in the year.
Mike Hoffman - Winger, Senators (DraftKings - $5,800 FanDuel - $6,000)
He has put together a fantastic first half for the Senators with 22 goals and 17 assists up to this point. He is a great cash game play as averages around three shots per game and has a very affordable mid range salary. Hoffman has also been about 1.5 points per game better at home where the Senators will be Tuesday as they face the Sabres.
Tomas Hertl - Winger, Devils (DraftKings - $4,700 FanDuel - $4,400)
Since joining the Sharks top line with Joe Thornton and Joe Pavelski, he has provided tremendous value at a slow rising salary. In his last 10 games he has picked up nine points with 29 shots and a +11 rating. He has also been much better at home this year with points in four straight and five of his last six games in San Jose. He is safe choice in any format on Tuesday.
P.K. Subban - Defense, Canadiens (DraftKings - $6,400 FanDuel - $5,600)
While the Habs have struggled lately, Subban has been consistent averaging around four fantasy points per game in his last 10 games. In what should be a fairly high scoring game between two struggling teams who look to be starting backups, Subban should have a bit extra upside.
