NHL DFS Picks for Saturday, December 12th
We are back on Saturday night with 10 games on the schedule for the night slate. There are six teams (ARI, CAR, DAL, LA, MIN, NYR) playing on back to back nights with the New York Rangers playing a 3rd game in four nights on their Canadian west coast road trip. Lets take a look at a few core plays for Saturday night.
Pekka Rinne - Goaltender, Predators (DraftKings - $7,600 FanDuel - $8,300)
It has been a rocky couple weeks for Rinne which has driven the price to season lows. He rebounded last start vs. the Blackhawks stopping 35 of 36 shots en route to the win. Rinne will be in a nice spot on Saturday as the Predators are at home as -195 favorites vs. the Avalanche.
Jeff Carter - Center, Kings (DraftKings - $6,600 FanDuel - $8,200)
He has been an incredibly consistent fantasy option this year with a high floor created by the amount of shots he takes. He is ranked 26th in the league averaging 18 shot attempts per 60 min and has picked up 26 points on the year. He is safe in all formats Saturday night.
Alex Ovechkin - Winger, Capitals (DraftKings - $9,100 FanDuel - $10,000)
He hasn't been scoring at the elite level he has in the past but still has 25 points in 26 games on the year. He is due for a breakout game any time now as he is leading the league in shot attempts per 60 min and comes into this matchup with a career 77 points in 58 games vs. the Lightning.
Tomas Hertl - Winger, Sharks (DraftKings - $4,600 FanDuel - $3,900)
He has spent most of the season on the 3rd line for the Sharks but as of Friday's morning skate he is up on a line with Joe Pavelski and Patrick Marleau. This will be a boost for Hertl we should see around 18-20 minutes of ice time which is a boost from his season average of 15 minutes a game.
Kevin Shattenkirk - Defense, Blues (DraftKings - $5,500 FanDuel - $6,200)
He has points in eight of his last 10 games and is the Blues top offensive D man and quarterback of the powerplay. He is a very consistent fantasy producer and should be considered a top pick in any format.
