NHL DFS Picks for Tuesday, December 8th
After an exciting weekend in the NHL we are back on Tuesday with a 9 game schedule. Only one team(NSH) is playing on back to back nights meaning, for the most part, all teams should be well rested. Most of the #1 goaltenders will be going tonight giving us plenty of good options to build around. For cash games we will be looking at the biggest favorites when looking at vegas odds and picking our goalies from those games. Pricing for goalies on DraftKings is a bit softer allowing you to build multiple lineups while interchanging goalies. A great strategy for GPP tournaments. Lets take a look at some core plays for tonight.
Kari Lehtonen - Goaltender, Stars (DraftKings - $7,000 FanDuel - $8,400)
He picked up the win in his first start after returning from a upper body injury and looks to pick up where he left off. Before the injury he had recorded six straight wins and seen his price climb to $7,100. It has only dropped back down to $100 but the Stars at home Tuesday as -225 favorites making him a safe choice in any format.
Jeff Carter - Center, Kings (DraftKings - $6,400 FanDuel - $8,100)
He is one of the most consistent fantasy options out there due to his high average of 18.2 shot attempts per 60 minutes of ice time. He has converted those attempts into 79 shots on goal for 25 points on the season. He has also added two powerplay goals and a +15 rating. Great pick in any format Tuesday night.
Alex Ovechkin - Winger, Capitals (DraftKings - $9,100 FanDuel - $10,000)
He leads the league with an amazing average of 28.3 shot attempts per 60 minutes of ice time and has converted those into a league leading 124 shots. His point total is still a little pedestrian for him with only 23 points on the year. His price has started to creep down and it makes a great time to jump on board in GPP tournaments.
Tomas Tatar - Winger, Red Wings (DraftKings - $5,300 FanDuel - $5,600)
A great pick for cash games as he has been extremely consistent over the last 2 -3 weeks. He has picked up 10 points in his previous 10 games and has added 29 shots and a +8 rating in that time. It is a tough matchup but if you are looking for a mid tier option to balance out a cash game lineup, Tatar is you man.
Duncan Keith - Defense, Blackhawks (DraftKings - $5,400 FanDuel - $6,400)
He is coming into this game with a six game point streak with multiple points in two of those games. He has picked up right where he left off before injury sidelined him. He is the #1 defensemen for the Hawks and provides huge offensive upside.
