RotoBallers, welcome back to our daily fantasy hockey (NHL DFS) lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings. Below you will find our NHL cheat sheet - DFS lineup picks, sleepers and stacks for Thursday, March 30 of the 2016/2017 NHL season.
With over a quarter of the league already eliminated from the playoffs, we can really start targeting the teams with something to play for down the stretch. It starts with the Atlantic Division where no team has clinched a playoff spot with three Canadian teams(TOR, MTL, OTT) currently occupying the top three spots.
Tonight we get a big nine-game slate where everyone should be well rested with no teams on a back to back and just three teams(DET, FLA, NSH) playing their third game in four nights. Let's take a look at a top value play from each position.

NHL Daily League Lineup Picks for Thursday, March 30
For those that are new to this, each day we'll be providing you with a few of our top DFS lineup picks for daily league cash games on FanDuel and DraftKings. We will also provide you with one of our favorite teams to stack for GPPs. You can grab the rest of our Premium DFS lineup picks and stacks through the NHL Cheat Sheet and DFS Premium Pass below.
Kyle Turris (C, OTT)
DraftKings - $5,000, FanDuel - $5,900
Before March started it would be crazy talk to target anyone vs. the Wild who were sitting inside the Top 5 in defense. They have since slipped to ninth thanks to a streak that has seen them give up 43 goals over their last 12 games(3.6 per game). Turris comes at a very affordable price on both sites due to the road matchup but has points in five of his last seven games including multi-point efforts in two of his last three games.
Nikita Kucherov (W, TB)
DraftKings - $8,000, FanDuel - $8,500
Speaking of multi-point games, Kucherov has been a master with five straight and seven in his last 10 games. The Lightning trail the Bruins by just three points with less than two weeks to go so look for max effort down the stretch. This could be the last game to stack him with value play Brayden Point as Steven Stamkos appears ready to return on Saturday night. Oh boy!
Andrej Sekera (D, EDM)
DraftKings - $4,400, FanDuel - $4,600
Sekera continues to crush his salary down the stretch making him one of the top PTS/$ plays overall, not just on defense. Over his last 10 games, he has tallied eight points(three on the powerplay) with 16 shots on goal and 33 blocks. That is an average of 4.2 DraftKings/14.8 FanDuel points per game. Lock him into your lineups in all formats.
Stacking Option
Ottawa Senators PP- Kyle Turris, Mike Hoffman, Bobby Ryan, Erik Karlsson
The Sens get to face one of the best teams in the Western Conference as they are going through their worst stretch of the season. They have given up 43 goals over their last 12 games and have given up five powerplay goals in their last three games. This is great news for the Sens who sit in second in the Atlantic Division just four points behind the Habs and four points ahead of the Leafs.

Bonus: General NHL DFS Strategy Notes
For cash games, look at players who can contribute to your score even when they are not providing offense. Some examples are guys who take a ton of shots and defensemen who block a lot of shots. Also, look for guys who get power play time. You can find value in players who join a new line due to an injury, or just get a promotion and more ice time. It is also recommended to spread out your exposure to three or four different lines, and not put all your eggs in one basket.
For large field tournaments (GPPs), find payers who have multi-point upside and can grab double-digit fantasy points. If you want to stack the most upside in your forwards, a common strategy is to punt the defense position. This doesn't mean just grab anyone - try and look for a defenseman who will get power play time, or a playing time boost due to an injury. For a contrarian approach, paying up at the defense position can be a great strategy - but it also comes with more risk. GPPs bring a great opportunity for goaltenders in the value price range - you can look for backups on good teams.
