NHL Daily League Lineup Picks for Saturday, March 11

For those that are new to this, each day we'll be providing you with a few of our top DFS lineup picks for daily league cash games on FanDuel and DraftKings. We will also provide you with one of our favorite teams to stack for GPPs. You can grab the rest of our Premium DFS lineup picks and stacks through the NHL Cheat Sheet and DFS Premium Pass below.

Sean Monahan (C, CGY)

DraftKings - $5,700, FanDuel - $6,800

The Flames have been red hot(pun intended) lately and it's in large part to their offense that has been playing well above their 18th rank. They have won eight straight games while averaging just under four goals per contest. Monahan has been a key contributor to the streak with back to back multi-point games and has 10 points over his last 10 games with 26 shots on goal.

Evander Kane (W, BUF)

DraftKings - $6,300, FanDuel - $6,300

The Sabres and Blue Jackets will be playing the second of a back to back home at home tonight. While Kane never got on the scoresheet in a 4-3 loss, he did record five shots adding to his elite total(60) over the past 15 games. He has also been rewarded for the shot volume with 10 goals and added three assists over those 15 games. He is a great play in all formats.

Mark Streit (D, PIT)

DraftKings - $4,100, FanDuel - $3,800

He has been a part of three teams over the past two weeks and has finally settled in with the Penguins. After not recording more than six points in any month with the Flyers all season, he has already recorded four points in his first three games with the Penguins in March. With Kris Letang out with an "upper-body" injury, Streit has been playing around two minutes per game on the Pens lethal powerplay. With a value price in the $4K range on both sites, he is safe in all formats.

Stacking Option

Ottawa Senators - Mike Hoffman, Jean-Gabriel Pageau, Mark Stone(PP), Erik Karlsson

Sticking with the Senators once again as they have been hot winning five straight, scoring 17 goals. The team overall will be chalky as they get an elite matchup vs. the Avalanche and their dead last defense. Hoffman provides a terrific floor averaging 3.1 shots on goal per game this season and has tallied eight points over his last 10 games. If you are looking to separate yourself take a shot with Pageau who has been coming in around 5% owned and has picked up six points over his last 10 games with 30 shots on goal.

Bonus: General NHL DFS Strategy Notes

For cash games, look at players who can contribute to your score even when they are not providing offense. Some examples are guys who take a ton of shots and defensemen who block a lot of shots. Also, look for guys who get power play time. You can find value in players who join a new line due to an injury, or just get a promotion and more ice time. It is also recommended to spread out your exposure to three or four different lines, and not put all your eggs in one basket.

For large field tournaments (GPPs), find payers who have multi-point upside and can grab double-digit fantasy points. If you want to stack the most upside in your forwards, a common strategy is to punt the defense position. This doesn't mean just grab anyone - try and look for a defenseman who will get power play time, or a playing time boost due to an injury. For a contrarian approach, paying up at the defense position can be a great strategy - but it also comes with more risk. GPPs bring a great opportunity for goaltenders in the value price range - you can look for backups on good teams.
