RotoBallers, welcome back to our daily fantasy hockey (NHL DFS) lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and FantasyAces. Below you will find our NHL cheat sheet - DFS lineup picks, sleepers and stacks for Thursday, December 8 of the 2016/2017 NHL season.
Big night in the NHL with 10 games on the main slate with only two teams(BOS, CAR) playing on back to back nights. With an early look, it appears to be a night to load up on road teams with some nice matchups out tonight. The top game to target will be the Oilers/Flyers game. The Flyers have only been involved in one game this year where there have been less than four goals scored(3-0 loss to TB).

For those that are new to this, each day we'll be providing you with a few of our top DFS lineup picks for daily league cash games on FanDuel, DraftKings, and FantasyAces. We will also provide you with one of our favorite teams to stack for GPPs. You can grab the rest of our Premium DFS lineup picks and stacks through the NHL Cheat Sheet and DFS Premium Pass below.
Jake Allen (G, STL)
DraftKings - $8,000, FanDuel - $8,800, FantasyAces - $7,600
He definitely isn't the goalie of choice for cash games with a shaky road record(3-3-1) but coming off a huge win against the Habs he will have momentum on his side. He has also won eight straight starts limiting the opponent to under three goals in five of those games. He makes an excellent high upside GPP play tonight.
Evgeni Malkin (C, PIT)
DraftKings - $7,400, FanDuel - $8,400, FantasyAces - $5,700
With both Malkin and Crosby red hot, take the discount and roll with Malkin. He has tallied 13 points over his last 10 games and provided a very high floor with 38 shots on goal. He also occupies the top powerplay unit with Crosby. He is safe in all formats.
Jakub Voracek (W, PHI)
DraftKings - $6,800, FanDuel - $7,100, FantasyAces - $5,650
All the Flyers players have enjoyed a nice boost in value lately as the team is currently riding a six game win streak. Jakub Voracek and Wayne Simmonds are similarly priced on both sites so lean Voracek in cash games for a few reasons. First of all, he skates on the top line with Claude Giroux and is averaging over a shot per game more than Simmonds.
Colton Parayko (D, STL)
DraftKings - $5,000, FanDuel - $5,300, FantasyAces - $4,950
From a PTS/$ perspective, Parayko has been near elite lately with nine points over his last 10 games averaging 1.7 blocks and 2.6 shots per game. It's a bit odd seeing him with zero goals with his heavy shot but has tallied 14 helpers on the season. At his current salary, he is safe in all formats.
Stacking Option
Philadelphia Flyers PP - Claude Giroux, Wayne Simmonds, Jakub Voracek, Brayden Schenn
The Flyers have been hot on the powerplay during their six game win streak scoring at least one goal with the man advantage in four of those games. For cash games, the Flyers are a great team to target as they have a high powered offense and you can combine a player from each of the top lines as they play together on the powerplay. They also come with tremendous upside which is perfect for tournaments.

Bonus: General NHL DFS Strategy Notes
For cash games, look at players who can contribute to your score even when they are not providing offense. Some examples are guys who take a ton of shots and defensemen who block a lot of shots. Also, look for guys who get power play time. You can find value in players who join a new line due to an injury, or just get a promotion and more ice time. It is also recommended to spread out your exposure to three or four different lines, and not put all your eggs in one basket.
For large field tournaments (GPPs), find payers who have multi-point upside and can grab double-digit fantasy points. If you want to stack the most upside in your forwards, a common strategy is to punt the defense position. This doesn't mean just grab anyone - try and look for a defenseman who will get power play time, or a playing time boost due to an injury. For a contrarian approach, paying up at the defense position can be a great strategy - but it also comes with more risk. GPPs bring a great opportunity for goaltenders in the value price range - you can look for backups on good teams.
