We have a big 12 game slate tonight, and there are fantastic options all across the board. Stacking will be big tonight, so look for some value where you can, and then load up on the star skaters.
Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually 5.5 goals is average, so targets games at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 12/14/17. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom. DFS Forwards to Consider
Steven Stamkos - C, TB @ ARI (DK - $7,800, FD - $8,600)
Stamkos and the Lightning are looking to be one of the more popular options on the slate as always, but especially tonight, since they are up against the Coyotes. Anytime Arizona is on the slate, you want to look to roster against them, since they are so weak defensively, giving up over three goals per game. Stamkos is one of the top DFS centers in the league, and if you the salary, you shouldn't pass up the chance to roster him. He has 42 points in 30 games this season, and is taking almost three shots per game. He is one the top forward line and the top power-play unit, so the multi-point potential is big here.
Patric Hornqvist - W, PIT @ VGK (DK - $6,500, FD - $5,900)
Hornqvist is now on the third line, but still on the first power-play, so he still hasn't plenty of value. He has 20 points in 29 games this season, and taking over three shots per game. The Penguins are always a popular option in DFS, and tonight should be no different. They are on the road at Vegas, who are giving up over three goals per game. If you want to roster Penguins, I try and stick to the top two lines, or go a full power-play stack. I'm going with the later, since there is plenty of value on this full slate.
DFS Defenders to Consider
Zach Werenski - D, CLS vs NYI (DK - $5,400, FD - $5,300)
Werenski plays a ton of minutes every game, and is a great cash game play for tonight. He is on the top power-play unit and the top defensive pairing, so he will be out there to counter the Isles top line. He is taking nearly three shots per game and blocking over one shot per game. Can really fill up the stat sheet in a hurry, which is exactly the type of player you want, so if one area is down, he can make up for it in another.
Tyson Barrie - D, COL vs FLA (DK - $4,600, FD - $5,000)
Barrie makes a good mid-range play tonight, and with a full slate, you shouldn't have to worry about ownership. He has 21 points in 29 games this season, and plays on the second defensive pairing and the top power-play unit. Good all around option tonight with some upside against a Florida team giving up over three goals per game.
DFS Goalies to Consider
Carey Price - G, MON vs NJ (DK - $8,000, FD - $8,700)
Price came back from his injury and put together five straight wins, but is now on a three game slide. Goalies of his caliber are due for a turnaround, and this is the spot for him. He is at home against the Devils, who have looked strong of late, but also a bit inconsistent for the year. He regularly sees over 30 shots per game, so plenty of time to rack up some easy DFS points.
