NHL Daily League Lineup Picks for Saturday, November 19
Connor McDavid (C, EDM)
DraftKings - $8,100, FanDuel - $7,600, FantasyAces - $5,750
He has cooled off this week being held pointless in back to back games but is still averaging a point per game. He is developing a higher floor as well as the shot totals continue to climb. He has recorded three or more shots on goal in six of hi s last 10 games. He gets a nice matchup tonight vs. a struggling Stars team ranked 27th in defense, allowing 3.3 goals per game.
Marian Hossa (W, CHI)
DraftKings - $6,000, FanDuel - $6,400, FantasyAces - $5,450
The price is starting to climb but not fast enough. There is still some value to be had with Hossa who is red hot with goals in five of his last six games. He plays the second line with Artemi Panarin and Artem Anisimov and is also getting heavy usage on the powerplay. With his above average shot attempt per 60 rate(15.4) he is safe in all formats.
Alexander Edler (D, VAN)
DraftKings - $4,200, FanDuel - $4,600, FantasyAces - $4,700
Strictly a cash game play as Edler provides very little in terms of offensive upside. What he does provide is a high floor as the league leader in shot blocks per game and is also averaging over two shots on goal per game. The best part is the mid t low $4K price tag.
Stacking Option
Edmonton Oilers PP - Connor McDavid, Milan Lucic, Jordan Eberle, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins
The Oilers have been struggling lately losing five straight games and scoring three goals in a game just once. The good news is they get a matchup against another struggling in the Stars who rank 27th in offense, allowing 3.3 goals per game. To get back on track the Oilers will need their powerplay to click and should get some added opportunities as the Stars take the second most penalties per game.

Bonus: General NHL DFS Strategy Notes
For cash games, look at players who can contribute to your score even when they are not providing offense. Some examples are guys who take a ton of shots and defensemen who block a lot of shots. Also, look for guys who get power play time. You can find value in players who join a new line due to an injury, or just get a promotion and more ice time. It is also recommended to spread out your exposure to three or four different lines, and not put all your eggs in one basket.
For large field tournaments (GPPs), find payers who have multi-point upside and can grab double-digit fantasy points. If you want to stack the most upside in your forwards, a common strategy is to punt the defense position. This doesn't mean just grab anyone - try and look for a defenseman who will get power play time, or a playing time boost due to an injury. For a contrarian approach, paying up at the defense position can be a great strategy - but it also comes with more risk. GPPs bring a great opportunity for goaltenders in the value price range - you can look for backups on good teams.
