Daily Fantasy Hockey Lineup Picks (11/03/16): NHL DFS Cheat Sheet

RotoBallers, welcome back to our daily fantasy hockey (NHL DFS) lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and FantasyAces. Below you will find our NHL cheat sheet - DFS lineup picks, sleepers and stacks for Thursday, November 3 of the 2016/2017 NHL season.

After a slow three game slate on hump day, the NHL is back in full force Thursday night with 12 games. With the day off on Monday there is no team playing a third game in four nights but the Penguins, Canucks and Flyers will all be playing a second of back to back games.

For those that are new to this, each day we'll be providing you with a few of our top DFS lineup picks for daily league cash games on FanDuel, DraftKings, and FantasyAces. We will also provide you with one of our favorite teams to stack for GPPs. You can grab the rest of our Premium DFS lineup picks and stacks through the NHL Cheat Sheet and DFS Premium Pass below.

Editor's Note: New users that sign up on Fantasy Aces, make a $20 deposit, and enter any game will receive our full season NHL Premium Pass (DFS Cheat Sheets) for free, a $99.99 value. NHL Daily League Lineup Picks for Thursday, November 3

 Artem Anisimov (C, CHI)

DraftKings - $5,800, FanDuel - $5,700, FantasyAces - $4,950

There is no one hotter than Anisimov through the first 10 games of the season. He leads the league with 13 points playing on the Hawks second line with Artemi Panarin and Marian Hossa and gets heavy usage on the powerplay. He is definitely due for regression with an unsustainable 35% shooting percentage but you have to ride the hot streak, especially against the 22nd ranked defense and 23rd ranked penalty kill.

Wayne Simmonds (W, PHI)

DraftKings - $6,500, FanDuel - $7,100, FantasyAces - $5,300

Simmonds continues to provide elite value at a big discount from top plays at the position. He picked up an assist on the overtime winner last night to extend his point streak to five games, bringing his point total to 12 for year. The Flyers have a lot to work on from a defensive standpoint but have it rolling on offense ranking 3rd in goals per game with the leagues 3rd best powerplay.

 Travis Hamonic (D, NYI)

DraftKings - $3,900, FanDuel - $4,300, FantasyAces - $4,500

There are some top lien combinations in great situations tonight meaning we are going to have to find value in a few spots. A great place to start is on defense where it is best to find a high floor guy who contributes shots and blocks. Enter Travis Hamonic who is averaging over two blocks a game and has already picked up five points in 10 games. He will get a slight offensive boost tonight against a Flyers team who ranks 29th in goals allowed per game.

Stacking Option

San Jose Sharks PP - Joe Thornton, Joe Pavelski,  Logan Couture, Patrick Marleau

The Sharks offense, overall, hasn't been top notch to start the year ranking 22nd in goals per game but has been much better at home where they are undefeated. They will get a great opportunity to keep it that way Thursday night against a Flames team who rank 26th in goals against and 28th on the penalty kill.

Bonus: General NHL DFS Strategy Notes

For cash games, look at players who can contribute to your score even when they are not providing offense. Some examples are guys who take a ton of shots and defensemen who block a lot of shots. Also, look for guys who get power play time. You can find value in players who join a new line due to an injury, or just get a promotion and more ice time. It is also recommended to spread out your exposure to three or four different lines, and not put all your eggs in one basket.

For large field tournaments (GPPs), find payers who have multi-point upside and can grab double-digit fantasy points. If you want to stack the most upside in your forwards, a common strategy is to punt the defense position. This doesn't mean just grab anyone - try and look for a defenseman who will get power play time, or a playing time boost due to an injury. For a contrarian approach, paying up at the defense position can be a great strategy - but it also comes with more risk. GPPs bring a great opportunity for goaltenders in the value price range - you can look for backups on good teams.
