Hitter Streamers for 5/3 - Shallow Leagues
Andrew Benintendi (OF, LHB, KC) - 48% Rostered
Matchup: vs. CLE RHP Aaron Civale
Andrew Benintendi is on fire right now, going 13-for-44 (.295) with 10 runs, three homers, six RBI, and one stolen base in his last 10 games. It's also worth noting that he's been caught stealing twice, so he's clearly been given the green light on the basepaths. Benintendi goes up against Aaron Civale, who's a tough pitcher but does give up a lot of contact. This is the type of streamer who could end up on your team for the long haul.
Raimel Tapia (OF, LHB, COL) - 36% Rostered
Matchup: vs. SF RHP Aaron Sanchez
Raimel Tapia is back at Coors, so he's a great streamer against Aaron Sanchez. Sanchez throws his sinker 26.4% of the time and we all know what happens in hitter's parks when this pitch doesn't have the same movement as usual. Tapia is worth a look because he's become a fixture in the leadoff spot in this lineup. He's slashing .300/.345/.520 with three home runs at home this year.
Evan Longoria (3B, RHB, SF) - 30% Rostered
Matchup: @ COL RHP German Marquez
Evan Longoria has walked seven times with seven strikeouts in his last eight games. He's put up elite numbers in xwOBA (95th-percentile), xSLG (96th-percentile), and barrel rate (93rd-percentile). Longoria has a good chance to break out at Coors against German Marquez, who's having major control issues so far, putting up a 13.3% walk rate in 32.2 innings this season.
Hunter Dozier (1B/3B/OF, RHB, KC) - 23% Rostered
Matchup: vs. CLE RHP Aaron Civale
Hunter Dozier is finally heating, homering three times in his last 10 games, including on Sunday. This is a hitter with a max exit velocity in the 88th-percentile, so there's power upside here. Dozier has alternated between the fifth and sixth spot in this Royals lineup. He makes for a nice pairing with Benintendi if you decide to use a Royals stack in DFS tournaments.
Hitter Streamers for 5/3 - Deep Leagues
Alex Dickerson (OF, LHB, SF) - 14% Rostered
Matchup: @ COL RHP German Marquez
Alex Dickerson is always in play as a streamer when he faces a righty in a hitter's park. Dickerson has put up a .384 wOBA vs. RHP throughout his career. He often hits in the fourth or fifth spot in the lineup when facing a righty, so he'll be in a prime position for run production. Go with Dickerson if you need power or you can use him as part of a Giants stack in DFS.
Brandon Belt (1B/OF, LHB, SF) - 14% Rostered
Matchup: @ COL RHP German Marquez
How can I forget Brandon Belt when recommending streamers? He's one of my favorite streamers to use whenever he's facing a righty in a hitter's park. Belt is struggling right now, slashing .203/.326/.405 with four home runs, but he's still getting on-base, posting a 16.5% walk rate. Belt should be able to get on-base against the erratic Marquez. Fire him up as another piece to your Giants stack.
Willie Calhoun (OF, LHB, TEX) - 5% Rostered
Matchup: @ MIN RHP Kenta Maeda
Willie Calhoun finds himself on this list for the second consecutive week, as his rostered percentage is still lagging behind his production. Calhoun has hit safely in each of his 13 games this season, hitting .347 with two home runs. He's been hitting leadoff against righties and he'll face one here in the struggling Kenta Maeda. Maeda has put up a 5.17 xERA, grading poorly in xwOBA (22nd-percentile) and hard-hit rate (20th-percentile). Calhoun is one of my favorite streamers on Monday's slate.
Mike Tauchman (OF, LHB, SF) - 3% Rostered
Matchup: @ COL RHP German Marquez
Newly-acquired Mike Tauchman is the final piece to this Giants stack. Tauchman had a big game on Sunday, going 1-for-4 with one run, one homer, and four RBI. He's been a hitter that was held back by the outfield logjam with the Yankees, but he'll have a chance at playing time in San Francisco. Tauchman is another solid streamer in Coors as a lefty bat facing an inconsistent righty in Marquez.
Pitcher Streamers for 5/3 - Shallow Leagues
Dane Dunning (RHP, TEX) - 25% Rostered
Matchup: @ MIN
Dane Dunning has put up a 3.97 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, and 19.8 K-BB%, but he might be even better than his surface stats, as he's posted a 3.31 xERA and 30.5 CSW%. This is a tough slate for pitcher streamers, but Dunning is worth a look even against a tough Twins lineup.
Pitcher Streamers for 5/3 - Deep Leagues
Daniel Lynch (LHP, KC) - 4% Rostered
Matchup: vs. CLE
Any time a top prospect is starting, they're usually worth a look as a streamer. This is the case with Daniel Lynch, who has an exploitable matchup against an Indians lineup that could be without Franmil Reyes for another game. Lynch came into the season as the 25th-best prospect in MLB, ranked by Baseball America.
