Baseball is back, and fantasy managers in daily leagues no doubt already have holes to fill. The easiest way to do that is with streamers. Fortunately, RotoBaller has you covered with daily streaming picks.
Each day, RotoBaller will provide you with some of the best fantasy baseball streaming picks - options to consider in fantasy baseball daily leagues. Additionally, these recommendations can be useful for fantasy managers setting DFS lineups.
Wednesday brings us a nice full slate that includes a trio of afternoon games and a 12-game evening ledger. There are some veteran struggling arms taking the hill that can be exploited and some attractive hitting environments in those of Camden Yards and Fenway Park that help guide a couple of my decisions on streaming bats. There are also some surprisingly low-rostered hot bats, making it an intriguing day to roll the dice on a few hitters. Roster percentages referenced are from Yahoo! leagues.

Hitter Streamers for 6/9 - Shallow Leagues
Justin Upton (OF, LAA) - 41% rostered
Matchup: vs. KC RHP Brad Keller
Upton went into Tuesday night’s action with a .343 xwOBA and .486 slugging percentage, and he owns a .270 average, .952 OPS and .394 wOBA against right-handed pitching in his home park. He draws a good matchup against Keller on Wednesday, as the Royals right-hander has allowed a 6.41 xERA and career highs in barrel rate (10.4 percent) and hard-hit rate (46.4 percent). Additionally, he’s been lambasted by righty bats on the road, giving up a .357 BAA, .453 wOBA, 2.7 HR/9 and 6.80 xFIP in that split. Upton also checks in swinging a hot bat, as he entered Tuesday with a .391 average and 1.474 OPS over the last seven games.
Manuel Margot (OF, TB) - 26% rostered
Matchup: vs. WAS LHP Patrick Corbin
Margot makes for low-rostered access to Corbin, who’s been taken to task by right-handed hitters on the road for a .370 average, 1.138 OPS, 3.6 HR/9 and .480 wOBA across an 84-batter sample. Margot checks in with a .256 average against right-handed pitching at home, and he’s enjoyed some success against Corbin in the past with a .292 average and .500 slugging percentage across 24 career plate appearances. Margot also gets a good matchup against Nationals relievers once Corbin exits, as they’ve given up a 5.88 ERA on the road over the last two weeks.
Jurickson Profar (2B/OF, SDP) - 33% rostered
Matchup: vs. CHC RHP Jake Arrieta
The switch-hitting Profar draws an appealing matchup Wednesday against Jake Arrieta, who’s struggled to a 5.26 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 1.9 HR/9 on the season. The veteran has been particularly lambasted by left-handed hitters on the road, having yielded a .333 average, 1.047 OPS, 2.9 HR/9 and .435 wOBA to the 76 hitters he’s faced in that split. Profar has an elevated 14.3 percent walk rate and modest 18.7 percent strikeout rate against righties at home, along with a 27.6 percent line-drive rate in that split. Profar also happens to enjoy plenty of success against Arrieta’s trademark sinker, as he’s battered that pitch for a .393 average and .422 wOBA, while Arrieta has surrendered a .297 average and .382 wOBA when throwing the pitch this season.
AJ Pollock (OF, LAD) - 46% rostered
Matchup: @ PIT LHP Tyler Anderson
Pollock makes for a good way to get right-handed exposure to Anderson, who’s yielded a .264 average, .338 wOBA and 1.7 HR/9 to righty bats on the season. He’s also stranded just 53.6 percent of baserunners when facing right-handed hitters on the road, while Pollock entered Tuesday with a .308 average and .328 wOBA against southpaws at Dodger Stadium. He also boasts a 25.9 percent line-drive rate and 40.7 percent hard-contact rate against left-handed pitching overall, and when Anderson exits, he’ll get a crack at a group of Pirates relievers that have yielded a .277 average and .358 wOBA on the road in the last month.
Hitter Streamers for 6/9 - Deep Leagues
Miguel Andujar (OF, NYY) - 9% rostered
Matchup: vs. MIN RHP Randy Dobnak
Andujar checked into Tuesday with a .298 average against right-handed pitching, as well as a .793 OPS, .337 wOBA and .241 ISO against that handedness at Yankee Stadium. Andujar also had a .263 average and three home runs over the 11 games prior to Wednesday, while Dobnak has pitched to a 6.94 ERA and 1.71 WHIP over his last two starts. Meanwhile, although Dobnak has had his worst trouble versus left-handed hitters, he’s given up a .264 average to right-handed bats as well, along with a 26.3 percent line-drive rate to that handedness overall.
Kevin Pillar (OF, NYM) - 2% rostered
Matchup: @ BAL RHP Matt Harvey
Rostering right-handed hitters against Harvey is never a bad idea, not when the struggling veteran has allowed a .331 average and .381 wOBA to righty bats, along with a 2.0 HR/9 when facing them at hitter-friendly Camden Yards. Pillar also owns a solid .263 average and 20.7 percent line-drive rate versus righties, and he’s a very good career fastball hitter, a pitch that’s Harvey’s bread and butter. He also is thriving against the sinker – which is Harvey’s third-most thrown pitch this season – as Pillar owns a .463 wOBA versus that offering thus far in 2021.
Christian Arroyo (2B/3B, BOS) - 2% rostered
Matchup: vs. HOU RHP Jake Odorizzi
Odorizzi has often had trouble keeping the ball in the park during his career, and that’s certainly the case this season, where he’s yielded a 2.2 HR/9 across 16.1 innings. The right-hander has had more trouble against left-handed bats than righties so far, but 14 of the 25 homers he’s given up since the start of the 2019 season have come from right-handed hitters. Arroyo is extremely low-rostered for a player who went into Tuesday with a .301/.350/.441 slash line and a .450 average over the previous seven games. Arroyo is also hitting leadoff regularly versus righties and owns a .348 wOBA and .794 OPS versus that handedness on the season.
Mitch Moreland (DH, OAK) - 2% rostered
Matchup: vs. ARI RHP Matt Peacock
Peacock is slated to make the start for the D-Backs on Wednesday afternoon and checks into the interleague matchup allowing a .304 average, .978 OPS and .402 wOBA to left-handed hitters on the season, along with a 3.3 HR/9. Moreland’s numbers against right-handers don’t necessarily jump off the page – his .259/.319/.400 slash in that split is just ok – but he has 157 homers, a .792 OPS and a .337 wOBA against righties for his career. Moreland will also be in a position to thrive when Peacock exits, as Arizona relievers have allowed a .282 average, .885 OPS and .378 wOBA to lefty bats on the road in the last month.
Pitcher Streamers for 6/9 - Shallow Leagues
Shane McClanahan (SP, TAM) - 42% rostered
Matchup: vs. WAS LHP Patrick Corbin
McClanahan had a rough time against the Yankees his last time out, but the Nationals represent a good matchup for the developing left-hander. Washington is sporting a 26.0 percent strikeout rate, .235 average, -2.1 wRAA and .298 wOBA against left-handers on the road in the last month. McClanahan has yet to go longer than five innings in any start, but there aren’t a great deal of viable low-rostered pitching candidates Wednesday and he owns a solid 3.77 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and impressive 11.3 K/9 across 14.1 innings at Tropicana Field. If he gets off to a fast start Wednesday, there’s certainly the talent there for him to pay off with what might be a longer outing than usual.
Pitcher Streamers for 6/9 - Deep Leagues
Austin Gomber (SP, COL) - 27% rostered
Matchup: @ MIA Pitcher TBA
Gomber has posted a 2-1 mark, 1.53 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 9.8 K/9 across the 29.1 innings covering his last five starts. The left-hander appears to have truly hit his stride, even as he’s ironically had more trouble on the road overall than at Coors Field. Nevertheless, the matchup is a premium one for the southpaw Wednesday, as the Marlins own a massive 36.1 percent strikeout rate, .203 average, .467 OPS, -5.3 wRAA and MLB-low .217 wOBA against left-handed pitching at home over the last month.
