Hitter Streamers for 4/20 - Shallow Leagues
Jazz Chisholm (2B, LHB, FLA) - 51% Rostered
Matchup: vs. BAL RHP Matt Harvey
This isn't just a pickup for today. I have no idea how Chisholm's ownership isn't over 80% by now. I will be heavy on Marlins in every league and DFS lineup tonight. Matt Harvey hasn't posted a season ERA under 4.50 since 2015. His combined ERA since then is 6.23. Chisholm is hitting .325 with three homers, three steals, and six RBI so far. The power and steals will help you anywhere and he wont hurt your average. You can't ask for anything more in a streamer.
Luis Arraez (2B/3B, LHB, MIN) - 33% Rostered
Matchup: @ OAK LHP Jesus Luzardo, TBD
For daily leagues, finding a streaming option that plays in a doubleheader should land you a few more at-bats. With more at-bats means more chances to produce some counting stats for your team. So long as you aren't in a points league, you should get something out of Arraez. He plays against lefties and it hitting .304 with a homer, eight RBI, and seven runs scored so far. This lineup creams lefties, so Arraez should get plenty of chances to score when he gets on base.
Evan Longoria (3B, RHB, SF) - 48% Rostered
Matchup: @ PHI RHP Zach Wheeler
Evan Longoria has been hitting the ball hard so far, posting strong grades in average exit velocity (96th-percentile), hard-hit percentage (99th-percentile), xwOBA (92nd-percentile), and xSLG (94th-percentile). He's also increased his launch angle from 10.7 degrees to 17.1 degrees. This is a much tougher matchup than last night, but with metrics going Longoria's way and four homers already in the early going in a small ballpark, he's worth the risk while you can still get him.
Colin Moran (1B, LHB, PIT) - 23% Rostered
Matchup: @ DET RHP Michael Fulmer
Fulmer's early returns show that he should be more like the 2017 or 2018 version than the 2020 version. However, he can't see to recapture that magic he had as a rookie in 2016. Fulmer is very hittable and Moran destroys average right-handed pitching. At this point, it's safe to say Fulmer is average. Moran hits .285 against righties in his career compared to just .233 against lefties and all but four of his career home runs have come off of right handers. Moran is hitting .298 with four homers, 13 RBI, and eight runs so far. He's one of the bright spots in the Pirates offense. Tonight he gets an average-at-best starter and the worst bullpen in the league. Sign me up!
Hitter Streamers for 4/12 - Deep Leagues
Myles Straw (OF, RHB, HOU) - 13% Rostered
Matchup: @ COL RHP Jon Gray
The Astros have been COVIDed and are missing a few key pieces, which keeps Straw in the lineup. The bad news is that Straw is still going to bat ninth. Coors Field isn't magically going to give a guy like Straw more power, but he has swiped three bags on the young season so far. Straw is worth a prospective look in this series because while he wont knock one out of the yard, the gaps in this outfield are massive. If Straw pushes a few into the gaps, he might run all the way down Blake Street.
Gregory Polanco (OF, LHB, PIT) - 4% Rostered
Matchup: at DET RHP Michael Fulmer
Polanco is off to a slow start, but he still has a cupole of homers and a steal to add to the counting stats. A guy like Polanco hitting in a park with a massive outfield like this could really help in leagues that count total bases. The Pirates offense can't be this bad forever, right? I'll believe Fulmer's resurgence when it lasts more than two starts. Now I think it's still worth trying to chase him.
Jordan Luplow. (OF, RHB, CLE) - 3% Rostered
Matchup: vs. CWS LHP Carlos Rodon
This is not a great matchup, especially when you consider that Rodon carried a perfect game into the ninth against Cleveland last week before losing it on a hit batter. Rodon still completed the no-hitter and Luplow was in the lineup then too. However, Luplow has creamed lefties in his career. He is in a strict platoon, so he likely wont do you much good on days that he doesn't start, but days when he faces a lefty, he's worth streaming. Even if it is against a guy like Rodon.
Aledmys Diaz (2B, RHB, HOU) - 1% Rostered
Matchup: @ OAK LHP Jon Gray
Here's another Houston bat that is available because they are operating with a few less players. Diaz has flashed some power here and there, and should in this series in Coors. It may or may not come off of Jon Gray, but that Colorado bullpen is worth targeting. Pick up a few Astros to stream for this series. You may be able to poach a couple of homers this week.
Pitcher Streamers for 4/20 - Shallow Leagues
Taijuan Walker (RHP, NYM) - 28% Rostered
Matchup: at CHC
Walker has posted a 2.61 ERA and 1.16 WHIP in two starts so far this year. The wind will be blowing in and it's going to be cold at Wrigley tonight. Walker has 12 strikeouts in 10.1 innings and has only allowed seven hits on the season. The Cubs offense has really only had one good game so far. Here's betting the former top prospect can continue his hot start to the season in the cold Friendly Confines.
Pitcher Streamers for 4/20 - Deep Leagues
Jon Gray (RHP, COL) - 27% Rostered
Matchup: vs. HOU
Gray is one of those weird guys that actually pitches well at Coors Field. Now he gets a depleted Houston squad. Yeah, they still have some power and some speed, but I'll trust Gray and his 1.54 home ERA so far this year. It's going to be cold in Denver tonight. That's going to help temper the offense. Gray has always had good strikeout upside, especially at home. Things are looking good for Gray. Let's just hope that the offense gets a big enough lead that the bullpen can't blow.
