Hitter Streamers for 4/12 - Shallow Leagues
Joc Pederson (1B/OF, LHB, CHC) - 53% Rostered
Matchup: @ MIL RHP Freddy Peralta
Pederson gets a good matchup against a righty in Peralta at American Family Field, a ballpark that is great for left-handed hitters. Pederson has gotten off to a slow start, but this is a hitter with power upside, putting up a .289 ISO in 2019. Throughout his career, he's been much better against righties, posting a 128 wRC+ and .262 ISO. Peralta has looked good so far, but he struggled with homers in the past, allowing a 1.59 HR/9 in 2019.
Kyle Seager (3B, LHB, SEA) - 48% Rostered
Matchup: @ BAL RHP Dean Kremer
Seager broke out in a big way on Sunday, going 4-4 with two home runs and four RBI. He has a great chance to keep it going against a righty in Kremer in the bandbox that is Camden Yards. Kremer has struggled with control in a small sample, posting a 14.5% walk rate in 18.2 innings in 2020 and walking four Yankees in three innings in his first start of the season. Look for Seager to keep it rolling on Monday.
Willi Castro (3B/SS, SHB, DET) - 21% Rostered
Matchup: @ HOU RHP Zack Greinke
Castro has gotten off to a slow start this season, but he's been hitting the ball hard, posting a 99th-percentile max exit velocity heading into Sunday's action. While Greinke is a tough matchup, it's only a matter of time before Castro starts to get hot, putting him firmly in play as a streamer. This is the type of streamer who can end up in your lineup for the long haul because of his high upside.
Jazz Chisholm (2B/SS, LHB, MIA) - 21% Rostered
Matchup: @ ATL RHP Huascar Ynoa
Chisholm is another streamer who can stay on your team for a while due to his enticing power-speed profile. This is a hitter with prospect pedigree as the jewel of the Zac Gallen trade. We saw Chisholm flash his upside by turning on a 100-MPH Jacob deGrom fastball at the letters into an upper-deck home run. While Ynoa looked good in his first start, turning in six shutout innings against the Nationals, he's an unproven pitcher.
Hitter Streamers for 4/12 - Deep Leagues
Amed Rosario (SS, RHB, CLE) - 8% Rostered
Matchup: @ CHW LHP Carlos Rodon
Rosario gets a good matchup in a hitter's park against a lefty in Rodon. Rosario is a former top prospect who has fared much better against southpaws throughout his career, posting a 119 wRC+ and .168 ISO. When Cleveland faced a lefty in Tarik Skubal on Saturday, Rosario hit sixth in the lineup, which gives him more upside since he'll have more opportunities for run production. Expect him to hit sixth once again on Monday.
Maikel Franco (3B, RHB, BAL) - 8% Rostered
Matchup: vs. SEA LHP Justus Sheffield
Franco is starting to heat up, going 3-for-7 (.400) with one run, one home run, five RBI, three walks, and zero strikeouts in his last two games. He posted a .216 ISO against lefties in 2019, which bodes well for his outlook against Sheffield, who struggled in his first start, allowing four runs on eight hits in five innings. Franco is seeing the ball well right now and I expect him to build off his big game on Sunday, where he homered and drove in four.
Taylor Trammell (OF, LHB, SEA) - 7% Rostered
Matchup: @ BAL RHP Dean Kremer
Trammell is another hitter with prospect pedigree who is starting to heat up, going 3-for-8 (.375) with three runs, two home runs, and four RBI in his last two games. He has a great chance to keep it going at Camden Yards against a mediocre pitcher in Kremer. This Mariners/Orioles game has the makings of a high-scoring affair with several opportunities for run production. Let's keep riding the wave with Trammell in this strong matchup.
Jason Heyward (OF, LHB, CHC) - 5% Rostered
Matchup: @ MIL RHP Freddy Peralta
Heyward is another Cubs lefty who comes at a low rostered percentage, making him an option in deep leagues. As with Pederson, Heyward has been much better against righties throughout his career, posting a 119 wRC+ and .168 ISO. While he's gotten off to a slow start, slashing .172/.226/.310 with one home run, perhaps he can get things going in a ballpark that plays well for left-handed hitters.
Pitcher Streamers for 4/12 - Shallow Leagues
Carlos Rodon (LHP, CHW) - 53% Rostered
Matchup: vs. CLE
Rodon looked excellent in his season debut against the Mariners, pitching five shutout innings, allowing two hits and three walks while striking out nine. What's most encouraging is his increased velocity, with his four-seamer up from 92.8 MPH to 95.4 MPH and slider up from 83.4 MPH to 85.2 MPH. He also introduced a new curveball, which can help make his slider more effective. We could be in the early stages of a breakout, so make sure you pick him up.
Pitcher Streamers for 4/12 - Deep Leagues
Aaron Sanchez (RHP, SF) - 1% Rostered
Matchup: vs. CIN
Sanchez looked good in his first start, going five innings while allowing one run on six hits with zero walks and four strikeouts. This was against one of the best lineups in baseball in the Padres. Sanchez showed changes in his pitch mix, increasing his sinker usage by 18.1% and his curveball by 6.6% while decreasing his fastball by 26.9%. Sanchez faces a tough Reds lineup, but I think this Giants team knows what they're doing with pitcher development. We may have something here.
