We have a 13 game main slate tonight, that is filled with pitching options in the top tier and the mid tier, but there are also some obvious gas can pitchers to target and stack against. You will need some savings for the high end pitchers, but if you are willing to take a step down, you can load up on bats. No major weather concerns as of now.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 8/23/17. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider
Luis Severino, NYY @ DET (DK - $12,300, FD - $9,900)
Severino is one of the top arms on the mound today, and he is in a great spot. He is over $1K cheaper than Kluber on FanDuel, so that might be something to look at, if you want a bit of savings. Severino has put up eight or more strikeouts in four of his last five starts, and is up against the Tigers who strikeout 22% of the time vs right-handed pitching. The Tigers usually roll out around seven right-handed hitters in their lineup, and Severino has a 29% strikeout rate vs right-handed hitters. This match up lines up very nicely for Severino, who has been very consistent over the past month. Minus his most recent start against Boston, Severino has allowed three earned runs over his last six starts. Great in any format tonight.
Zack Godley, ARI @ NYM (DK - $9,700, FD - $8,800)
Godley gets a huge park shift going into Citi Field, which is one of the best pitchers parks in the league. Godley falls in the mid-tier tonight, and is in a spot to be a very enticing option. The Mets have traded away most of their threaten hitters over the past few weeks, and simply put, this lineup is borderline a minor league team. They only strikeout 19.8% of the time vs right-handed pitchers, but they don't have a ton of weapons to pour on the runs. Godley has shown he has what it takes this year to limit the damage, as he has only given 4 ER or more three times this season. Great SP2 options for DraftKings and also a good tournament option.
DFS Infielders to Consider
Gary Sanchez - C, NYY @ DET (DK - $4,700, FD - $3,500)
Gary the Goat Sanchez is hot right now, and you don't want to fade him when he is on a streak like this. He has seven home runs over his last 10 games, and is going up against a pitcher who is giving up a .354 wOBA to right-handed hitters this season. Sanchez is expensive, but he comes into this game with a .366 wOBA and a .238 ISO vs right-handed pitchers, which makes him great for any format.
Justin Smoak - 1B, TOR @ TAM (DK - $4,600, FD - $3,400)
The Smoak monster is always a threat to go deep, even though he has only had two home runs over his last 11 games. Smoak has a .369 wOBA and a .279 ISO this season vs right-handed pitchers, which puts him in a good spot to get out of this slight down turn in production and hit one out. Could get him a lower ownership, since first base is full of options, and Smoak hasn't been putting up big numbers lately.
Dee Gordon - 2B, MIA @ PHI (DK - $4,300, FD - $3,200)
Gordon has a .310 wOBA and a .341 OBP this season vs right-handed pitching, and makes a solid option at the keystone position tonight. Gordon only has a 13% strikeout rate vs RHP pitchers, which is super low, so when he gets on base, he is a big threat. He has three stolen bases over his last four games, and is a threat any time he gets to first. Great upside in tournaments because of the speed, and is working with a four game hitting streak.
Mike Moustakas - 3B, KAN vs COL (DK - $4,200, FD - $4,000)
Moustakas comes into today with hits in 11 of his last 12 games, including five multi-hit games. The guy is getting it done at the dish, and he has a .387 wOBA and a .310 ISO this season vs right-handed pitchers. Great option in any format tonight, due to his recent consistency, and the power upside.
Didi Gregorius - SS, NYY @ DET (DK - $4,100, FD - $ 3,100)
Didi seems a bit under priced on FanDuel tonight, considering the fact he has a .373 wOBA and a .231 ISO this season vs right-handed pitchers. He is also up against Jordan Zimmermann, who is giving up a .385 wOBA to left-handed hitters. For his price on FD, he seems like a auto lock in any format.
DFS Outfielders to Consider
Ben Gamel - OF, SEA @ ATL (DK - $3,400, FD - $2,500)
Gamel offers a nice bit of salary relief, and is going against R.A. Dickey, who is a pitcher many DFS players like to pick on, since he is known for getting blown up early. Gamel has a .331 wOBA and a .115 ISO this season vs right-handed pitchers. Those numbers won't blow you away, but the savings and the match up, can make up for it.
Matt Adams - OF, ATL vs SEA (DK - $3,600, FD - $2,900)
Only play Matt Adams when he is up against a right-handed pitcher, as he is tonight, and is in a spot to hit one deep. Adams has a .365 wOBA and a .260 ISO this seaosn vs RHP. Adams has legit two home run upside vs RHP, but he is always tough to roster if you are looking for consistency. He does have two home runs over his last four games.
Adam Duvall - OF, CIN vs CHC (DK - $4,500, FD - $4,000)
Duvall has massive power numbers vs left-handed pitching this season, he has a .400 wOBA and a .317 ISO. Big, big time numbers, and playing in the fantastic hitters park that he does, he is a threat to go deep any night. Duvall has hits in seven straight games, including two home runs.
