Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (10/4/17): MLB DFS Advice for FanDuel, DraftKings

We have a split three game slate, with one game taking place on Wednesday night, and then two on Thursday. The game on Wednesday night is the NL Wild Card Game, with the Rockies at Diamondbacks. On Thursday, we have both American League series starting, with Red Sox at Astros, and Yankees at Indians. Great time of the year, but with split slates, we have to speculate on starting lineups, so I'll give a few top plays rather than one at ever position.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 10/4/17. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider

Zack Greinke - P, ARI vs COL (FD $9,600)

With limited pitching options on a slate like this, you want to look at consistency and the match up. Over his last two starts against the Rockies, Greinke has this stat line: 14IP, 14 SO, 4 ER, 1 W. Really impressive stuff considering the Rockies have one of the most powerful offenses in the league, and both stadiums they were played at are very hitter friendly. Although the Rockies has some power in their bats, they also strikeout 22.5% of the time vs right-handed pitchers, which was 10th worst in the league this year. So we have a pitcher at home, who has post season experience, and against a team he preforms well against. These are all good signs, and something you want to jump on.

DFS Infielders to Consider

Jake Lamb - 3B, ARI vs COL (FD $3,200)

Any time Lamb is going against a right-handed pitcher, you want to consider roster him, as he has a .386 wOBA and a .270 ISO. Fantastic numbers which gives him the power upside to make the difference in the game. Speaking of power, Lamb ended the season on a high note, with two home runs in his last four games, so hopefully he can carry that into the postseason.

Jose Altuve - 2B, HOU vs BOS (FD $3,800)

On a short slate you are going to have to take a stand with your hitters, even when they are going against good pitchers. Altuve has eight hits in 21 career at-bats vs Chris Sale, which is the best by any current Houston hitter. Altuve is the likely AL MVP, and he has a .412 wOBA and a .209 ISO this season vs left-handed pitchers.

Mitch Moreland - 1B, BOS @ HOU (FD $3,100)

Moreland also ended the season on a strong note, having hits in four straight games, and two home runs over that span. He has faced off against Verlander 32 times in his career, and has come away with 10 hits for a .412 wOBA. Kind of a sneaky spot for Moreland, since most players will look at one of the Red Sox stars for who to take.

DFS Outfielders to Consider

Brett Gardner - OF, NYY @ CLE (FD $3,100)

Gardner has a .396 wOBA in 26 lifetime plate appearances vs Trevor BauerThis is a spot where you want to take a closer look at the stats, since there are fewer options on a small slate. There are five Yankees' players who have 17 or more plate appearances vs Bauer, and four of them have a wOBA over .360. Gardner is the veteran of that bunch, and could make an interesting option if you are looking to stack some players up.

J.D. Martinez - OF, ARI vs COL (FD $4,100)

Martinez had five home runs over his last nine games, and is a threat to go deep any night against any pitcher. He comes into this one game Wild Card, with a .402 wOBA and a .351 ISO vs right-handed pitchers. Absolutely monster numbers, and even with his high salary on a short slate, you should try to squeeze him in, as his production potential is always massive.
