PGL MAJOR STOCKHOLM 2021

Best of 3

  • Heroic (-190) vs. Virtus Pro (+145)
  • G2 (-110) vs. NiP (-120)

Captain Plays

NiKo: I think he is clearly one of the best options on this slate, and I feel like at 8,800$ that is very cheap for him. The pricing is quite soft though so I do anticipate him being heavily owned but I think it will end up being good chalk as he has dominated during this tournament so far, and G2 as a whole has looked fantastic recently. So far he has a 1.44 K/D with a .85 KPR and a low .59 DPR during the event all of which included big wins over Copenhagen Flames, FaZe, and Entropiq. They have looked quite dominant and NiKo is leading that charge.

stavn: stavn has been on one during this tournament. He has been carrying this team to victory. This match is going to be close and I think Heroic is going to need stavn to continue this level of play because he is has been an absolute beast. He has a 1.36 K/D with a .86 KPR and a .63 DPR during this event so far. He is the most expensive player on the slate though so getting him might be tough but, with pricing being as soft as it is, I don't think getting him at captain or in your lineups is going to prove as difficult as normal. The pivot from him would definitely be refrezh though.

Other captain plays in order of preference: hunter, refrezh, device, Yekindar

Value Plays

AmaNeK: Amanek and Nexa are both viable options. I like Amanek a little more as he is the AWPer for G2. Which generally means fewer deaths as they tend to lay back more often than not. Both players have looked good in this tournament so far though. So far in this tournament Amanek holds a 1.35 K/D with a .7 KPR and a low .52 DPR. We are getting great value from either of these players as I believe G2 continues to roll in this tournament and beats NiP.

Qikert: As for value plays go, Qikert has actually been playing very well during this tournament and I'm actually surprised to see him at 5,400$. He has positive matches in 3 of the 5 games played. The ones he didn't make were in losses to Gambit and NaVi. He looked good in tough games against Vitality, Mouz, and FaZe. He is barely been positive overall but at this cheap, I think we get a great piece of value. He has been a 1.01 K/D with a .65 KPR and .64 DPR. The matchup with Heroic should be close and if we get him just positive I think we get some bang for our buck. If you can get the extra salary to get up to Fl1t, I recommend grabbing him but in the under 6k options, Qikert will do.

Other value plays in order of preference: Fl1t, nexa, TeSeS, hampus, Plopski

Top Stacks / Team Picks

G2: G2 has looked nice in this tournament so far and I'm just not sold on NiP yet. The way they ended the last stage was super close to them being eliminated too after they lost to Gambit and NaVi by sweep. They almost blew the game against Copenhagen as well but were able to squeak it out in OT. I don't think they are ready for G2 who has looked very good in this tournament. I also think the maps favor G2 a little bit more as well.

For the players, Lock in NiKo! He has been the best on his team for a while and has killed it during this tournament. Next, I would look to is Hunter, we are getting him at a great price, and has been a great second player for G2. Jackz is the one I'm fading completely. He is cheap but I like Amanek or nexa much more. Jackz has been awful in recent games and I'm not sure we see a sweep for him to be worth the value. AmaneK has been a great AWPer for G2, he dies less but also isn't quite as involved with kills as nexa can be. Nexa is a bit riskier but I see him having a better chance at getting more kills but he will more than likely end up with more deaths.
