BALLER MOVE: Start in 10+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR2 with upside
ANALYSIS: Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp has battled numerous lower body injuries since his record-breaking 2021 campaign. However, the former Super Bowl MVP enters the 2024 season healthy and has a great chance to return to a high-end fantasy option.
Last season Kupp played in just 12 games and totaled 737 yards and five scores. However, from Weeks 13-17, Kupp began to get himself back on track as he averaged 18.0 PPR points with 6.4 catches per game.
Cooper Kupp's ranks among WRs since his Week 5 debut:
22 targets (4th)
15 receptions (4th)
266 receiving yards (4th)pic.twitter.com/0R0jQjiyoO— Underdog NFL (@Underdog__NFL) October 16, 2023
Even though rookie sensation Puka Nacua is likely to see a heavier workload in this offense, Kupp could still provide elite upside as a WR2, given how well he has succeeded with quarterback Matthew Stafford in the past.
He has a very favorable matchup in the season opener on Sunday night as he faces the Detroit Lions. Currently, this game has the highest point spread of the weekend with a 51 O/U spread. Fantasy managers should expect both passing attacks to light up the scoresheet which will present Kupp with a great opportunity to start of the 2024 campaign on a high note.
