Minnesota Vikings - NFL Betting Analysis

The Vikings head into week 8, looking for another win, as they picked up 8 point victory over the Arizona Cardinals (34-26). Not only did Minnesota walk away with the win, but they also covered the spread as -4.0 point favorites. With their combined 48 points, the two teams exceeded the betting over-under number of 48. On their way to picking up a 8 point win, Minnesota held a 5-point lead heading into the 4th quarter at 28-23. Through 7 games, the Vikings have an ATS record of 3-4. So far, they have an over-under record of 4-3. This week's betting total of 43.5 is slightly lower than the line in their previous games.

Heading into this week's matchup, the Vikings offense is averaging 24.71 points per game, placing them 10th in the NFL. Look for the team to put together another strong offensive performance, as they are facing a Commander's defense ranked 17th in points per game. Throughout the game, Minnesota should be able to move the ball through the air, as they are the 11th-ranked team in terms of passing yards. In addition, they are facing off against a defense that has been vulnerable in the secondary. On the ground, our projections show that the Vikings offense will a good game on the ground, surpassing their season average of 108.57 as the Commanders are a below-average rush defense.

Washington Commanders - NFL Betting Analysis

Washington will look to add on another win, as they picked up a non-conference victory over the Indianapolis Colts (17-16). Not only did the Commanders win the game, but they also covered the spread 2.5-point underdogs. With an over-under betting line of 40, the two teams fell below that figure as they combined for 33. Despite being the 2.5-point underdogs heading into the game, the Commanders held a 1 point lead heading into the 4th quarter. Through 8 games, the Commanders have an ATS record of 4-4. So far, they have an over-under record of 3-5. This week's betting total of 43.5 is right in line with their previous games.

As the Commanders prepare to take on Minnesota, they are ranked 27th in points per game at 17.75. Even though they have a tough matchup against the league's 6th ranked defense, look for Washington to put together an above average offensive performance. Although the Commanders come into the game ranked just 16th in pass yards per game, they will benefit from facing a Minnesota secondary that is vulnerable through the air. We expect Washington to have an above average performance in the passing attack. On the ground, Washington figure to have their fair share of problems as they come into the game as the 24th ranked team in rush yards per game. In addition, they are facing a defense that has done a good job stopping the run.

Today's NFL Betting Pick - Vikings vs. Commanders

When looking back at the recent matchups between Minnesota and Washington, the Vikings have won 2 of the last 3 games. The over-under record in these games sits at 2-1, with the average scoring total coming in at 47.34 points. Last year, the Vikings and Commanders did not play each other.

The Washington Commanders have gone 2-1 vs the spread in these games. The Vikings offense has averaged 25.67 points per game over the 3 most recent meetings with Washington, compared to the Commanders at 21.67.

Minnesota will look to keep things rolling as they have put together a mark of 3-0 over their past 3 games. In these games, they have a 2-1 record vs the spread and an over-under mark of 2-1.

Across their last 3 road contests, Minnesota has been good against the spread posting a mark of 1-2. Their overall mark in these games was 2-1, while averaging 19.67 points per game.

Over their last 3 regular season games, the Commanders have gone 3-0 straight up. The team has also been excellent vs the spread, going 3-0. Their over-under record in these games was 1-2

Although Washington has a straight up record of 1-2 in their last 3 home games, they have not held up as well vs the spread going 1-2. The team averaged 16.0 points per game in these games.

Recommended ATS Betting Pick: Commanders 3.5

Recommended OU Betting Pick: Over 43.5
