BALLER MOVE: Stash in AL-Only Leagues
CALL-UP ETA: August
ANALYSIS: Chicago White Sox shortstop prospect Colson Montgomery has performed well throughout his Triple-A debut this season and should be expected to join the major league roster later this summer. Through 45 games with Triple-A Charlotte, the 22-year-old has posted a .221/.335/.401 with seven home runs, 22 RBI, and four stolen bases.
While Montgomery has shown great hitting potential, he is currently struggling with his strikeout rate. His 26:59 BB:K ratio is a cause for concern, as it is on track to be the worst of his career.
However, all of his other production is quite similar to the numbers he tallied at Double-A last summer, which is a good sign that the former 22nd overall pick has not hit any major roadblocks when moving up to Triple-A. Last summer, in 37 games at Double-A, he posted a .244/.400/.427 line with four long balls.

In addition, he has begun to raise his batting average a bit over the past two weeks. In his past 13 games, the top prospect in the Chicago system has tallied 12 total hits, including three doubles, one triple, and one long ball. In addition, he has swiped one bag and brought in 10 runs.
Given that Montgomery has only faced Triple-A pitching for the first time this season, it's unlikely we'll see him in the majors until after the All-Star break. For now, he's a player worth keeping an eye on in AL-only formats.
