ANALYSIS: I know Colby Lewis was detonated for six ER in five IP vs the hapless Angles in his last start. Everyone deserves one mulligan right? Colby Lewis deserves to be given a second look even after his one bad start in 2016.
That is not an exaggeration by the way---it was his ONLY bad start this season. Before his May 25th loss to the Angels, Lewis had posted eight QS, 44:12 K/BB, four W and had only given up 4+ runs once. The .254 BAA is very manageable and even though he has given up 10 HR, he has been able to limit the damage.
Lewis does not post sexy K/9 or WHIP numbers but he simply gets the job done. Several fantasy teams just want SP that can not only win, but rack up QS and simply not be a detriment to their team. Colby Lewis can be a preferred choice over players like Edinson Volquez, James Shields and Jake Odorizzi. Lewis plays in front of a terrific offense in a hitters ballpark. He has put up great numbers while at home and on the road and should continue to be a productive member of your fantasy team. Give Lewis some respect and some slack and add him with confidence.
