Coby Mayo is a fantasy baseball waiver wire stash for Week 12 (2024). Target Coby Mayo as a top prospect free-agent waiver wire pickup for fantasy baseball.
BALLER MOVE: Stash in Standard Leagues (9% rostered)
CALL-UP ETA: Late 2024
ANALYSIS: Baltimore Orioles' No. 3 prospect Coby Mayo has been one of the best hitters in Triple-A this season. Mayo is currently hitting .291 with 13 home runs, 11 doubles, and 37 RBI in 42 contests. This comes after he hit .290 with 29 HRs, 45 doubles, and 99 RBI across 140 games combined at Double-A and Triple-A last season.
Mayo hasn't been able to build on his strong 2024 campaign after fracturing his rib on May 16. MLB Pipeline's No. 19 overall prospect has missed the last couple of weeks with that rib injury following a diving attempt. The third baseman tried to retrieve a pop fly heading for the dugout, which eventually led to the 22-year-old falling and fracturing a rib.

While Mayo has been out since May 16, he is progressing well from that injury. He has already swung a bat and should only miss a few more weeks of action. Assuming he continues to hit the ball well upon his return, the slugging third baseman could get called up sometime in the second half of the season. That makes him a potential stash candidate in 12-plus team leagues.
