ANALYSIS: Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire has been a popular waiver wire pickup target for the past few weeks. The veteran running back started the 2024 NFL season on the Non-Football Illness list as he dealt with some mental health issues. Thankfully, Edwards-Helaire is doing better and is back with the team.
The veteran running back was activated off the Non-Football Illness list ahead of the Chiefs Week 7 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. While fantasy players had hoped to see Edwards-Helaire in the win over the 49ers, he was inactive. Unfortunately, fantasy players must wait another week to see Edwards-Helaire on the field.

Kansas City’s passing attack has been crushed by injuries, making their backfield significantly more valuable. Fantasy players can add Edwards-Helaire off the waiver wire but shouldn’t start him this week with Kareem Hunt playing well.
