Ever since he got that final out in his no-hitter against Baltimore in 2007, Clay Buchholz has been chasing something. He looked like he was on track in '10, finishing sixth in the American League Cy Young voting. Then he backslid badly, suffering from depression/anxiety in '11 and various injuries over the years, though he did have a bright '13. But now with David Price taking the reins as the undisputed ace of the staff, Buchholz can feel much less pressure than he did last year. That pressure was due to former general manager Ben Cherington's terrible decision to lump together a rotation with no clear-cut No.1 starter. The predictions came true, and Buchholz only pitched 113 innings overall and Boston finished last in the American League East. Now he's ready to see if he can regain his All-Star form. Having Price can only be a positive for him, Rick Porcello, Eduardo Rodriguez and Joe Kelly. He's definitely not a high-pick risk (only die-hard Red Sox fans might do that), but you could pick him comfortably anywhere from pick No. 175 to pick No. 190. He likely won't come near 200 innings pitched, a mark he's never cracked, but he can give a good ERA and WHIP when he does toe the rubber.
