ANALYSIS: After posting elite strikeout numbers at Triple-A this April, Christian Scott made his major league debut on May 4 against the Tampa Bay Rays. Scott looked strong as he tossed six ⅔ innings of one-run ball. He allowed five hits and one free pass and struck out six.

In four starts with Triple-A Syracuse earlier this season, Scott posted a 3.20 ERA and minuscule 0.71 WHIP with 36 strikeouts in 25 ⅓ innings. However, Scott struggled to keep the ball in the yard, with a 2.5 HR/9.
Although this has yet to hurt him in his lone major league start, fantasy managers should keep an eye on it. The 24-year-old generated a 38.9% ground-ball rate in his first start, which is not a good sign and could suggest that this could affect him in the majors.
However, Scott should provide elite strikeout numbers with a strong WHIP due to his excellent control. Just be careful if his ERA becomes inflated due to the long ball. The former Florida Gator should be added in all standard 12-team leagues.
