ANALYSIS: Christian Koloko was the 2021-22 Pac-12 Most Improved Player and Defensive Player of the year, and he ended up getting drafted in the second round (33rd overall) by the Toronto Raptors, who have needed to engage in plenty of roster-experimentation over the past couple of seasons. The 7'1, 225-lb. Cameroonian center finished his career at Arizona with across-the-board improvements, averaging 12.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks per game in 25.4 minutes while shooting 73.5% on free throws and 64.2% from two-point range.
It's still very early in the 2022-23 NBA campaign, but Koloko has already gotten a surprising amount of burn for a Raptors squad that had plenty of front court options entering the year. In 17.6 minutes per game, Koloko has averaged 4.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks. Even at 17.6 minutes per game, Koloko leads Toronto is blocks per game, and has a huge advantage in blocks per 36 minutes (2.8) and block percentage (7.7%). His rebounding is about average for a player at his position and skillset, but his interior defense alone should continue to net Christian Koloko more PT for the Raptors, making him a sneaky stash for Managers in deep formats.
