BALLER MOVE: Add in NL-Only Leagues, Continue Scouting In Deep Mixed Leagues
ANALYSIS: Coming into 2014, it was unclear whether Didi Gregorius was still going to be the starting shortstop for the Arizona Diamondbacks. He was flawed against left handed pitching and not overwhelming with the bat in general. In came charging was Chris Owings, a top hitting pedigree prospect, who raked in spring training and stole the job cleanly winning the hearts of MLB management and fantasy owners alike. Although he's held his own during his rookie campaign, and can be considered off the waiver wire for certain league formats, there have also been some long dry spells which have rendered him waiver wire fodder for now. While you can do way worse than his .266/3 HR/16 R/8 RBI/6 SB slash line, he should primarily only be targeted for action in NL-Only formats and much deeper mixed leagues (14+ teams). Continue scouting this young stud in case he breaks out during the summer heatwave in Arizona and emerges as one of those post-hype sleepers for fantasy baseball.
