BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 36% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Oakland Athletics starting pitcher Chris Bassitt has been a solid pitching option just about all season. Over the year, he's 7-5 with a 3.80 ERA and 1.20 WHIP. He's made 19 starts this year and allowed over three earned runs on just three occasions.
Bassitt made some big strides in his game last year, when he maintained an exit-velocity against of 85.5, which ranked amongst the top 10% of the league. So far this year, he's been able to keep that number right around the same clip (86.7) while making gains in other areas such as barrel rate against (5.6% in 2019, compared to 6.4% in 2018) and strikeout rate (22.3% in 2019, compared to 20.1% in 2018).
Bassitt has a favorable home park to pitch in and a solid offense to support him. He should be added in all 12+ team leagues and AL-only leagues. He's also worthy of an add in more shallow mixed leagues if you need pitching help - and who doesn't? His next start is Sunday at the White Sox, followed by a home start on Saturday, August 17 against the Astros.
