BALLER MOVE: Monitor in Dynasty/Keeper Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 2% of Yahoo Leagues, 1% of ESPN Leagues
ANALYSIS: Well, folks, the Chayce McDermott experiment in Baltimore was shorter than a New York minute. After making his MLB debut on July 24 against the Marlins, the Orioles sent the young right-hander packing back to the minors on Thursday, faster than you can say "cup of coffee."
McDermott's debut was, let's say, less than ideal. He coughed up four runs (three earned) over four innings, looking about as comfortable as a cat in a bathtub. Sure, he managed to fan five batters but also handed out two free passes, proving that his minor league control issues (5.1 BB/9 in Triple-A) weren't just a fluke.

Look, we're not here to bury the kid. He's got potential with that mid-90s heater and a slider that can make batters look silly. Right now, he's as raw as sushi. For those in redraft leagues, you can safely ignore McDermott. Dynasty league managers, keep him on your radar but don't lose sleep over him.
The O's are in a pennant race, and they need arms they can trust. Clearly, McDermott needs more seasoning before he's ready for the big-league barbecue.
