BALLER MOVE: Continue Scouting
ANALYSIS: One of fantasy baseball’s pioneers, Ron Shandler of BaseballHQ, has a mantra “Once you display a skill, you own it”. While I generally agree with that statement, it is about the only reason I can think of as to why Chase Headley remains owned in plenty of leagues, hovering around 36-37% in both ESPN and Yahoo. He was a true five-category player in 2012 and the kind of player that won you a championship. However in 190+ games since 2012, he has essentially been a zero-tool player that may offer you a little power and may offer you some speed. Unfortunately at this point in the season, it is safe to say that there are a number of 3B-eligible players available in standard leagues that can at the very least give you the same production if not beat it. Headley is worth holding onto in very deep leagues and NL-only leagues but thats about it.
