The 2023 NASCAR season has been a fairly difficult one for Chase Elliott. The popular driver has battled both a broken leg and a suspension this year.
Elliott has struggled for the most part when on the track. Across 11 starts, he has failed to find victory lane in 2023 and has notched just four top-five finishes. However, the Hendrick Motorsports driver has now finished inside the top five in his last two Cup Series starts.
The No. 9 team driver will look to keep that positive momentum going in the upcoming Chicago street race, though he did suffer a setback in qualifying. What is Chase Elliott's starting position and outlook in the NASCAR Cup Series Grant Park 220 on Sunday, July 2nd, 2023?

What Is Chase Elliott's Starting Position In Chicago Street Race?
Chase Elliott was pushing the limit of his Hendrick Motorsports Racing car on Saturday. Then, it came to the turn on South Columbus Drive. Elliott's right side bounced off the wall and barrier then went into the left side.
There was a good deal of damage to the No. 9 Chevy. Elliott's road prowess is well documented with four wins since 2020 and three coming on debut tracks. Chicago is obviously new but Elliott begins way back in 26th for Sunday. Moving up positionally is one thing but winning may be a tall order.
