BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 24% of Yahoo! leagues
ANALYSIS: I wrote last week that Chad Pinder has been having an odd year. That has continued, with a strikeout rate that has plummeted from last season, down from 26.4% last year to just 15.2% so far in 2019. Unfortunately his walk rate has been slashed even further, sitting at a paltry 2.5% after posting a career high 8.1% rate last year.
Still, on the young season Pinder already has 13 runs scored, three home runs and 11 RBI in 24 games, with a .320/.342/.507 slash line.
Pinder has always displayed excellent raw power, with 32 career home runs in 243 games played. Playing time has been his biggest issue, as he has primarily been a utility infielder for his career. However, this year he has appeared in 24 of Oakland's 27 games, starting in left field, right field, second base, third base and first base.
As long as he continues to hit the stuffing out of the ball, Pinder will get playing time - which makes him worth a look in 14-teamers for his multi-positional eligibility and power.
