We have a great night slate on tap with a handful of rivalry games and former Pac-12 teams duking it out. We start earlier on this slate, so be ready! We tip first in Tuscaloosa with Oklahoma in town for a game that will be bigger than the gridiron version. Syracuse heads down to Tallahassee to face Florida State. Colorado is in Tempe for the last of the early tips.
Next is Stanford in Pittsburgh to take on the Panthers. San Francisco heads up to Pullman to take on the Cougars. Texas Tech is in Salt Lake to take on the Utes. Texas heads to College Station to renew an old rivalry. We end the slate in L.A. with Michigan playing USC.

Today's DraftKings Guards - CBB DFS Lineup Picks
Jamir Watkins, Florida State ($9.3K)
THE DAILY SAUCE: Jan. 1, 2025
As Florida State men’s basketball begins the new year, guard Jamir Watkins ranks second in the ACC in scoring, averaging 19.5 points per game.

Watkins has scored at least 22 points in four straight games. That's along with his stat-stuffing peripherals across the board. Watkins is a good defender in a league full of them, but there isn't anyone in the ACC who can score with him. Good luck, Syracuse.
Jeremiah Fears, Oklahoma ($8.5K)
Fears is a big reason why Oklahoma is still undefeated. The Sooners are going to be tested here, but what we've seen so far from Fears is that he should be able to handle it. He's a good shooter, an excellent defender, and a capable passer. Fears has everything in his bag to help his team (and our lineups) win.
Jaquan Carlos, Syracuse ($5.7K)
We'll forgive the terrible outing against Maryland. The entire team struggled in that game. Removing the Maryland debacle, Carlos has at least 24 DraftKings points in every game With JJ Starling sidelined. That's a nice floor for the price.
Lucas Taylor, Syracuse ($4.5K)
One player can't make up for all of the scoring lost with Starling. Taylor has moved into the starting lineup since Christmas and has responded with 25 points, six rebounds, two steals, and an assist. That's enough for the price, but I like this as a value play due to the big uptick in minutes.
Also consider: Mark Sears, Alabama ($8.9K); Marcus Williams, San Francisco ($8.7K); Wade Taylor IV, Texas A&M ($8.1K); Nate Calmese, Washington State ($7.8K); Desmond Claude, USC ($7.2K); Roddy Gayle Jr., Michigan ($5.7K); Chibuzo Agbo, USC ($5.6K); Aden Holloway, Alabama ($5.2K); Kyle Cuffe Jr., Syracuse ($4.4K)

Today's DraftKings Forwards - CBB DFS Lineup Picks
JT Toppin, Texas Tech ($10.2K)
JT Toppin returned from injury to put up 26, 10 and 4 blocks vs. UCF. Not the flashiest scorer but 11 buckets in 28 minutes, always productive just working in his office finishing plays, flipping in hooks, putting back misses. pic.twitter.com/xzWRqWEDrz
— Jonathan Wasserman (@NBADraftWass) January 2, 2025
It was like Toppin was never gone. He came back with the same outstanding defense, board crashing, and scoring at will that he left with. Utah can't handle him. Toppin has the best ceiling on the slate and it's not close.
Malique Ewin, Florida State ($8.6K)
Ewin has scored in double figures in eight straight games and has at least eight rebounds in half of those. He has struggled against teams that are big up front. Syracuse is not one of those. We could see Ewin have a big game tonight since his rebound total should be higher.
Eddie Lampkin Jr., Syracuse ($6K)
Lampkin's offense has blossomed in the ACC and he is still an outstanding rebounder. He's a double-double waiting to happen, which is unusual for someone in this price range. Lampkin still isn't all that consistent as a scorer and he sometimes gets sloppy, but his upside is higher than anyone else in this price range.
Bangot Dak, Colorado ($5.2K)
I'm curious to see what could happen if Colorado were to use Dak more. He has had a few games where he's the most efficient scorer on the team and a couple of games (including Iowa State) where the other team couldn't keep him off the boards. Dak is a work in progress, but he has at least 24 DraftKings points in three of the last five games.
Also consider: Maxime Raynaud, Stanford ($9.8K); Danny Wolf, Michigan ($9.1K); Grant Nelson, Alabama ($8.3K); LeJuan Watts, Washington State ($7.5K); Kadin Shedrick, Texas ($5.6K); Pharrel Payne, Texas A&M ($5.1K); Jayson Kent, Texas ($4.3K)
