We have made it to the last week of the regular season. You know, the part where even the casual fans start to pay attention. The major conference tournaments start next week. These last two regular-season games are very important to some teams. Those are the ones to really keep an eye on. We have 16 games across two slates tonight. Let's get to it!
We've got some big names and some great matchups today. We'll go through all of those for each slate. We'll give you the core pieces with which you can build a cash or GPP lineup. Then we'll have some value plays to make it all fit. And for you Ricky Bobby types, we'll give you guys who have a great ceiling with a low floor because, "if you ain't first, you're last."
Here are my picks across all CBB DFS slates on Tuesday, March 3, with the main slate starting at 7 p.m. EST on DraftKings. The late slate starts at 9 p.m. EST.

Today's Main Slate DraftKings CBB DFS Lineup Picks
Best Matchups:
North Carolina wings vs. Virginia Tech
Purdue guards vs. Rutgers
Villanova guards vs. Georgetown
LSU forwards vs. Kentucky
Core Pieces:
Ryan Kalkbrenner, Creighton ($10.8K)
4PT Stats: Creighton 7’1” senior center Ryan Kalkbrenner led the way in a 75-65 win, posting 25 points, 13 boards, and a block on 12-of-17 shooting.
Over 27 games this season, he’s averaging 18.9 points, 8.7 boards, 2.5 blocks, and 1.5 assists while shooting 66.2% from the… pic.twitter.com/CVscl8UtG7

They say that slow and steady wins the race. It also might win Big East Player of the Year. Kalkbrenner has at least 30 DraftKings points in every game since December 18 against Georgetown. He put up 48.25 DK points on Seton Hall in the first meeting in a 25-point Creighton win. The threat of another blowout doesn't scare me.
V.J. Edgecombe, Baylor ($8.3K)
Edgecombe has at least 25 DraftKings points in every game since December 1. Freshmen aren't supposed to be consistent, but Edgecombe breaks that mold, mostly because he is strong on peripheral stats. Anything he scores is just a bonus. His real value is rebounding and defense.
Jayden Epps, Georgetown ($6.2K)
Epps rejoined the starting five with the Hoyas down a few players four games ago. He hasn't given them a reason to take him out. Epps has five straight games with over 20 DraftKings points. He hasn't gone over 30, but that's okay. Someone consistently in the 20s in this range is a good building block.
Value Pieces:
Jordan Sears, LSU ($4.6K)
Vyctorius Miller is doubtful, and Dji Bailey popped on the injury report late last night, so we could see Sears play a lot of minutes again. He played 30 on Saturday against Mississippi State and put up a solid 16.25 DraftKings points.
Don't expect miracles, but Sears is usually a bench player who just found himself playing big minutes. There should be marked improvement over Saturday if Miller and/or Bailey are out.
Jace Posey, TCU ($4.4K)
The freshman drew his first start of the season on Saturday against Central Florida. He put up 19.75 DraftKings points in 23 minutes, so it was a solid performance. TCU has no reason not to start Posey down the stretch to see what he can do. That makes him an intriguing value play.
Devon Pryor, Texas ($4K)
Pryor has started the last two games in place of Tramon Mark. Texas hasn't disclosed why Mark is sidelined, so it makes it hard to gauge when he might be back. If Pryor starts, he'll play 30 minutes or so with moderate success. If he doesn't, use Jasen Green or Jackson McAndrew in this tier instead.
Slate-Breaking Potential:
Braden Smith, Purdue ($9.7K)
NCAA players since 1947 to reach at least 1200 PTS, 600 AST, & 500 REB for their careers through their Junior season.
- Braden Smith

Smith had a streak of three bad games that ended against UCLA on Friday. Is he back? Maybe not, but against a team like Rutgers, it will look like he is. Smith put up 49.75 DraftKings points in the first meeting with Rutgers. His ceiling isn't much higher than that, but Smith might be the only player on this slate who can break 50 tonight.
Tre Johnson, Texas ($9.2K)
He's a freshman, so he's a little all over the place. It happens to most freshmen. Texas is in a position to put itself squarely in the tournament with a Quad 1 chance against Mississippi State. Johnson will need to be a big part of that. He has scored at least 24 points in four of the last five games, including a monster against Arkansas with 52.25 DK points.
Ernest Udeh Jr., TCU ($6.9K)
Udeh's first meeting with Baylor may have been an aberration. His 45.75 DraftKings points in 32 minutes is his highest total of the season. That's the ceiling. His second-highest game was on Saturday, with 38.25 DraftKings points. No one else has that ceiling in this price range.

Today's Late Slate DraftKings CBB DFS Lineup Picks
Best Matchups:
Auburn guards vs. Texas A&M
Nevada guards vs. New Mexico
Arizona vs. Arizona State
Oregon guards vs. Indiana
West Virginia frontcourt vs. Utah
Core Pieces:
Donovan Dent, New Mexico ($10K)
Donovan Dent finishes through the contact for his 14th 20-point game of the season! @Donovandent1
? MWN#GoLobos pic.twitter.com/NnJSAue8p5
— Lobo Basketball (@UNMLoboMBB) March 1, 2025
Dent has carried the Lobos to an NCAA Tournament bid. He has at least 32 DraftKings points in 11 consecutive games and has at least 28 in 16 straight. He put up 30.5 in the first meeting with Nevada. Just another day at the office for Dent. He's a sure 30 with plenty of potential for more.
Nelly Junior Joseph, New Mexico ($8.9K)
Utah State, a probable NCAA Tournament team, is the only team to hold Nelly under 30 DraftKings points in the last six weeks. NJJ didn't leave the court in the first meeting with Nevada and had 41 DraftKings points to show for it. A similar game seems likely tonight.
Andrew Rohde, Virginia ($6.5K)
Rohde has at least 20 DraftKings points in every game since February 1. Rohde's ceiling is in the low 30s, but there aren't many consistent players in this price range. There are a lot of good, expensive options tonight. Most won't build with any players in the mid-range, instead opting for cheap fillers to support the expensive stars.
Joson Sanon, Arizona State ($5.4K)
The Sun Devils have shuffled things up a bit with BJ Freeman off the team and Jayden Quaintance still out with an injury. One of those new shakeups is Sanon back in the starting lineup. He has 65 DraftKings points while playing 78 of the 80 minutes in those two games. Lock him in!
Value Pieces:
Nate Heise, Iowa State ($4.9K)
Heise played well while filling in for Keshon Gilbert. Even with Gilbert back on Saturday, Heise still played 27 minutes and put up 23 DraftKings points. That run with Gilbert out has resulted in more playing time for Heise. He earned it.
Jonas Aidoo, Arkansas ($4.8K)
With Adou Thiero out, Aidoo and Trevon Brasile have picked up the slack. Brasile plays more minutes and is cheaper, but Aidoo has 51 DraftKings points in 49 minutes. Brasile had a good score when he played the entire game against Texas, but he only put up 10 DK points when fouling out in 23 minutes against South Carolina. Both are solid options, but Aidoo is much safer.
Sam Hoiberg, Nebraska ($4.2K)
Hoiberg is back in the starting lineup, so we at least have to consider him. He's a constant double-digit scorer in DraftKings, but it's the low double digits, even in 30 minutes. There's no upside here, but Hoiberg is a cheap starter.
Slate-Breaking Potential:
Johni Broome, Auburn ($11K)
Johni Broome > Cooper Flagg for the National Player of the Year.
More Points/Rebound/Blocks per game & he does it in the best conference in CBB.
Broome: 19.8 PPG, 10.5 RPG, 2.8 BPG, 58% FG
Flagg: 19.5 PPG, 7.7 RPG, 2.4 BPG, 47% FGBroome has 15 games of 20/10
Flagg has 4 pic.twitter.com/eyVRIfkbl9— Peter Burns (@PeterBurnsESPN) February 24, 2025
Broome had his worst game since January 11 against Kentucky, a team that has struggled with bigs most of the season. That's why he's risky enough to land in this tier. We all know the upside. Broome has cleared 60 DraftKings points five times this year. He's a threat to do that against a sliding A&M team.
Javon Small, West Virginia ($8.5K)
There was a point this season when Small was in the discussion for National Player of the Year, and his price was over $10K on DraftKings. How things have changed. Small has struggled at times in Big 12 (16) play, but he still has five games of over 40 DK points in conference play. He put up 35.5 in the first meeting with Utah.
Caleb Love, Arizona ($8.3K)
Love is always in this section, but I have a good reason for including him tonight. In the first meeting against rival Arizona State, Love put up 50.5 DraftKings points. That's his second-highest total of the season. The bad news? Love was 2-for-15 from the floor against Iowa State on Saturday. His floor is DFS Hell.
